The DNC list isn't folowed by anyone.  They just laugh and tell me to come find them.  I tell them I work in a law office and have an unlimited database at my disposal.  I would be more than happy to come and discuss it with them face to face.  They can't hang up fast enough.

I just called these yahoos after being called day n nite.I used the company's number posted above and picked one of the extensions (although on the recording it said they were closed). A woman answered and I gave her an earful! She agreed to take me off the list but I won't hold my breath because she denied that I was called this morning at 730am. I told her to look up the number on the web and see how many complaints there are. She said they sell newspaper subscriptions all over USA. They call me from UTAH but stated they were contracted by the Toledo Blade paper (which is where I live). My next step is to contact them and let them know what a bad job their hired company is doing and I will cancel my local paper because of it.

I have gotten several calls from them but have never answered. I've gotten a couple voicemails saying "this is a service verification". After googling the number and seeing people mention my local newspaper I subscribe too I figured it was probably a marketing company. I just emailed my newspaper company directly and asked them to put me on their "no solicitations" list. I have not gotten anymore calls. I hope this helps someone!

We keep getting phone calls from this number and no one is ever there.  How do we get this stopped?

Just dial that number as Perturbed says and it immediately prompts you if you want to be removed. I entered my number and got removed.

I don't even subscribe to the Star.  It was a gift subscription for a friend in MN. Boy am I sorry I bought that 3 YEARS AGO!!!

I'm glad I did a search, and found that Verafast was connected to the Star Tribune. I finally got fed up with all the calls on Caller ID, and called their number back. It took me straight to the Don Not Call prompt.
At least they knew what I wanted. It better work, or I;m done with the Star Tribune.............

They call me 2 times a day and leave a recorded message saying this is a service verification call and will call later. Same thing 2 times a day. How did they get me cell anyway?

I have this wonderful feature on my phone...its a button called DROP.
When I can't verify who is calling...they get hit with the DROP button, which sends them to my voice mail.
If they don't leave a message I don't care. If I want to call them back I....might.

I called the Star Tribune's circulation #, 612-373-4343, and the rep. said they would stop the 3rd party's calls.  They're the ones with incentive to make you happy if you're a subscriber.

I too just started getting calls from this number. I know somewhat about verafast as I am a subscription salesperson myself. They will call existing customers and offer them promotional rates on more days, or an "upgrade". THEY WILL ALSO CALL NEW SUBSCIBERS TO VERIFY THAT YOUR PAPER DID INDEED START (and also try and upgrade you at the same time). In other words, if you are a new subscriber, answer your phone and they should quit calling after that. I called the number back and entered my phone number for the dnc list - see what happens....

Nothing shows up on my caller ID, no voicemail left when I let it ring. When I call back I get a message thanking me for calling customer service and if I want to have my number put on the DNC list I need to type in my number. Since I don't know who this is, I don't give my number. Frustrating. May take the call next time they call me, which will be today since I've been getting calls from this number every other day since some time in May.

I have been getting the voice mails a few times a day too for the last few weeks. You would think they would give up eventually when no one answers the phone.

Does anyone know if this company has to abide by the rules if you request they remove your number they have so many days and if they call again they are fined by the FCC and you get the money?  We could all be rich!

I have been getting calls from this number for the past two weeks 1 to 2 times a day. I never answer & it only left an automated voice mail once saying "We Will Call You Back Later". Maybe I'll answer next time and see what happens. My number is on the DNC list. If this number keeps calling & it is in fact, for the Star Trib, I will contact Star Trib directly to make this matter known & if nothing happens, maybe cancel my subscription.

I am very tireed of these people calling me.  I do not answer, but they keep on calling.

Same stupid Verification message every day this week.  If it's the strib it makes me all the more want to unsubscribe to that rag; don't know why we get it 7 days a week.
Giving the caller a hard time is probably worthless as they're just trying to make some money but perhaps calling the strib would be more beneficial if enough people cancel.

I also have been getting these calls.  I received the same voicemail as others and tried to call the number back, receiving the same message as others as well.  I decided to finally answer this morning and when I said hello, the guy said hello, then hung up on me.  Nice!!!!  I am also reconsidering my Star Tribune subscription just because of all the calls I always get asking if I want to get more papers!  Annoying!!!!

My business was called by this number and it did say Verafast on the caller ID.  When you answer, it is a recording that says something about "This is verification number *such-and-such*" or something like that and that was all it said.  Nothing telling you what that "verification number" is all about!  I called the number back and got the same message as some others did about if you want to remove your number from the call list then please leave area code and phone number.  I DON'T THINK SO!!  Not when I don't even know what this is all about!! I will just keep answering it until that live person comes on the line and I can ask what it is all about. Bothersome--YES, but not like it takes much time to hear that stupid verification message.

I have been getting calls from this number and there's never anyone there when I pick up, so I have been ignoring them.   This morning, I decided to try again, I picked up, it said that i was a verification service and hung up.  It was a recording, so I called the number back to see if I could speak to someone.  Today, the phone was answered by an automated CUSTOMER SERVICE rep and told me if I wanted to take my number off their call list to please enter it and then verify before hanging up.    I was then told they'd remove my number within two business days.   we'll see...

I keep getting these calls atleast once a day.  If i answer, its only a recording saying they will try me again. I have yet to get a live person from this phone number and when I call it back, it gives a not in service message.  i subscribe to the newspaper too so at least i have some insight as to who it is even though I cannot get a real person on the other side so i can tell them to go fly a kite..
