I just got a call from this number asking for someone I don't know and has NEVER worked here. She insisted I look him up by his social security number. This is a 5 person office, we own the business and I told her that this person has NEVER worked here. I don't need to look anything up. She then said he lived in a city 250 miles from here. I had to hang up on her!

Just got a call from this number, asking for Maria Munoz. The caller didn't identify herself. Since Maria Munoz is not my (first or last) name, I told her she had the wrong number. "Which Maria did I reach?" she asked. I promptly hung up. Sounds like some fishing for info. is going on here....

Federal Pacific Credit aka Chad Stuer Law pulls your credit and post information to your credit report before ever contacting you on an account. They report to all 3 credit bureaus however they PULL HARD INQUIRIES on your Experian credit report every 3 months. I have asked Experian about this and was told that they will not do anything about this and that I must contact Federal Pacific Credit to "ask them what their permissable reason is. If they do not have a permissable reason they will know what to do to correct the issue". On top of reporting that my $2500 original debt is now over $10,000 making it difficult to get credit, they are also hurting my score with all these inquiries. I do not even believe they are licensed in my state of Arkansas. Posting to make others aware and looking for advise..Thank you

I received a call from this number and they will not tell me what it is about. I do not owe any outstanding bills so I know it is not debt collection. We have for many years received calls for another Philip Hoffman but he is much younger, I was born in 1949. Please consider this notification of unwanted calls.

Seems to be a "zombie debt" collector. They buy the remainder on charge-offs and try to collect. DO NOT COMMUNICATE WITH THEM IN ANY WAY. TO DO SO IS IMPLIED ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF THE DEBTContact your attorney and have them send a cease and desist letter.

Rec'd call from Tawna @ 877-209-4155 (voice mail message). She only indicated she was with this Chad Steur Law Firm & asked for someone by a name that does not & has never lived here. I have rec'd multiple recorded messages from this #. Not sure how they obtained my #. I looked them up on line to find the references on this site. I have checked my credit report & do not have any outstanding debt.

They are trying to collect on old debt that someone bought for pennies on the dollar in the hope that someone will pay on the debt.. If you even pay 1 cent towards the debt, the statue of limitations on how long they can come after old debt expires and it's as if the debt is renewed. SO DO NOT PAY! When they call, they have to respect your wishes not to be contacted again - this is by federal law. You can find out a lot by google'ing debt collectors. This isn't an ad by me, but I just found this site when looking for the statute of limitations in Texas http://www.protectingconsumerrights.com/debt- ... -practices-act/ It has some good information.

A man from this number called asking for an Andrew something. I told him he had the wrong number. He asked if I knew him. I repeated "no, you have the wrong number". He then asked for my residence name and I told him it was none of his business and that the person he is looking for is not here and unknown to us. He began to tell me he was only trying to see if we had any connection to the person and I hung up.

I have been receiving calls from them for years. They never tell me any reason to the many calls. Come to find, I had some small balance from a credit card, they sued me over it. I had a lawyer represent me. The court dismissed the case with prejudice in Aug. (they cant sue again) then they sued me again in Dec. over the same matter!!! but then they (fed. pacific credit) dismissed the case. Today I got another call from them today in Feb. WTH how does this keep happening?

For the last couple of years I've been contacted by debt collectors claiming I owed Mervyn's Department Store about $125. I didn't recall an unpaid debt, but told the first several callers "If you could just verify the debt by sending a bill or telling me what it was I purchased and around what date, I'll gladly send a check immediately". I've been told that 1) this was impossible since Mervyn's was out of business now, 2) this was possible but there would be a $25 surcharge for me to receive a bill, 3) if I continued to refuse to pay I would be dragged into court and liable for legal fees worth many times more than the original bill. I remain willing to pay this or any other financial obligation ... but not without some indication that the debt is valid. This morning I received a call from 801-972-4550 simply asking me to call back, with no reason given. Then my brother, who lives 400 miles away from me, called me and told me that the Chad Stewart (sp?) law offices had called and needed their help getting ahold of me. I have not lived with my family of origin for 25 years. Harassing my family for a debt that nobody is willing to prove via simple documentation is sick and twisted.

So an attorney that is attempting to obtain justice, real justice--would choose to scramble over old debts that the orignial creditor probably loaned out at high interest rates to desperate people during the years of recession? Nice. Luckily they can purchase all the debt they want but the consumer never entered into an agreement with Mr. Chad La Sewer.

Don't call em back. I don't even know how the hell they aquired my phone number and I really don't care. I would however like to thank those of you that have posted info on this shady caller that prevented me from accepting the calls. Like one person posted no bill, no proof, no debt

Law office from Uta keep calling me for no reason./ asking for some guy's name.
Is there any way we can stop this calls? and stop the harassing.
| Jason 2010-06-14 18:45:27 Unknown |
Actually, good attorneys do go into debt collection business. It's easier for a law office to collect a debt than a collection agency, mostly because you're scare of legal action being taken. And some of the companies are reputable and are great about working things out. Don't make assumptions about which you know nothing.

these a***oles claim that i am multiple people and they keep calling one day i am randy and the next day i am mike and the next day i am robert? sorry i have not had name changes and i am not 3 different people and they refuse to tell me anything other than downtown law offices but the title does not exist, i need to find out more about them and get an attorney to sue them and get them to stop harassing me

These guys just called me and I have no idea what they are calling about. He mentioned something about a Master Card and I haven't had one. I hung up and looked them up. I am glad I did because it sounded super shady. I have credit monitoring so I'll know if they try to run my credit. God help them if they do because I know a few REAL Attorneys who make money on real cases and will squash them. Good attorneys don't go into the debt collection business. Remember that next time an "attorney" calls you for debt collection. You can just laugh at them and ask what s*** hole they went to school at.

caller told us we owed them money from an old debt that was paid off. when we refused to give them more money they cussed at my husband and told him to shut up and pay. we have been dealing with these people off and on for about three years. we have given them over $1600 we would like to see something done about this.

This company is Federal Pacific. They called me too, claiming they now owned a debt that I supposedly had incurred with a credit card company seven years ago. The issuer of the credit card merged with a large bank two years ago, so it's not really possible to contact the original issuer. They've mostly been polite but have been unable to produce proof that they own this debt. Prior to them contacting me, I was receiving phone calls from one of the most notorious scavenger debt collectors in the country concerning this very same debt, which I supposedly owe. So, if they call you again, its probably for some debt you incurred long ago, which has already been written off, and they're just circling around years later like scavengers trying to collect on something that's not theirs.

These people keep calling me, yelling at me, threatening me with lawyers. I don't know who they are. Two times I told them if they have an issue, send a bill. No bill in my mailbox - so why are they threatening me? I don't know them and anyone who will not send a bill with information reaks of identity theft or something. I refuse to give some jerk on my phone any checking account information to withdraw funds. They start off threatening me with lawyers, no explanation....they want money? Think again - apply different fear tactics here! If this was all legal, I would have had a bill in the mail wherein these phone calls would make sense! Collection agency or rip off scam artists wanting bank information to steal from people?
