Scammer is right!  I advertised something on Craigslist and this person replied that my object was worth a lot more than the asking price which was $200.  I played along and received a check for $2050 which would include shipping charges.  The person texted me to quickly deposit the check, that it would clear in 24 hours and he/she would send FedEx to pick up the object.  Luckily, I know about these people since I work in a financial institution.  Finally, the person kept asking me to deposit the check, saying again that it would clear in 24 hours.  Since I know it takes longer, I told him/her that I did work in finance.  I haven't heard another word.  I guess the person was intimadated that I know more than he/she!  I also alerted the business whose check the person used - indeed, their account had been hacked and they had received other calls like mine, and were very grateful to hear from me.  They were fortunate to have caught the problem in time and closed their account.  I plan to report this to ic3.gov.
