LOL, over a year!??? NO it's been over FOUR years, that I have been reporting, and after their "fine/court" report, I am still getting the calls,     Really good work! We should just fire everyone in this dept, and close IT down. It sure doesn't bring in the $ and they closed down the grand canyon, and it brings in 450,000 per day.     NOW the big fraud is coming from the middle east, with #'s that look like USA #'s but are not,    Do not answer!   ck area codes, if not usa, those DO need to be reported to Fed Trade Comm. 877-382-4357 and FBI
We are getting a phone blocker!!!

Doing about an hour of phone work, I found out this number (802) 488-3064 is provided thru CTC Communications Corporation, VT (NOT the CTC Communications corp in Canada).

Problem is the only local number [802-658-8864 in Williston Vermont] for Ctc communications corporation, VT is disconnected. I got an (800) number thru Centurylink [using 802-555-1212]. Thru many many loops, hurdles, and wrong numbers, I found out the telephone provider for this 'security company' [Ctc Communications] was bought out by Earthlink.

I confirmed this with Earthlink business at (800) 962-2488.

Next, I was tried to squeeze out the contact info for this "security" company twice, but Earthlink was tight lipped and required a subpoena. Earthlink charges $75 per hour for them to research, along with whatever your court costs would be [http://www.earthlink.net/about/policies/civil.faces].

So I kind of hit a dead end and im just blocking the whole area code to prevent further calls. Good luck whoever wants to pursue this further. I just doubt the $1,000-per-FTC-telemarketer-who-calls-after told-to-stop-and-after-you-are-on-the-national-do-not-call-list-cival-penalty 'thing' will be enough to pay all your legal, travel, and research fees.

I was kind of thinking of when they call having them come out and waste their time also getting the contact information for the 'company' but, as this is clearly a scam, its not very safe giving out your physical address to thieves.

Good luck people.

P.S. I am leaving this same message for the numbers below. If you dial any of these numbers, oddly the same 'man' answers saying to press 1 to be placed on the do not call list. SAME EXACT MESSAGE VERBATIM for each of these numbers.

(802) 488-3064, (802) 488-3063, (802) 488-3062, (802) 488-3061, (802) 488-3060,  (802) 488-3052, (802) 488-3051, (802) 488-3050, (802) 488-3045, (802) 488-3044, (802) 488-3030, (802) 488-3023, (802) 488-3022, (802) 488-3021

I stopped dialing at (802) 488-3020. I believe this 'security company' has the whole (802) 488-30xx block (99  numbers).

(802) 488-3065 - 69 are all busy/not-in-service, as are 53 - 59, 43- 40, 39-31, 29- 24 and 20

I tried (802) 488-2060 just to see about the next block of number but it was for a completely different company and did not have a clue about any home security products.

Also, (802) 488-4060/62 were not in service (with a message saying so).

I got an illegal robocall from Security Promotions (or something similar, it begins with a message about FBI reports about home break-ins) on Tuesday. I pretended interest, and their representative said somebody would call me back. I soon received a call from Alliance Home Protection from 214-452-0004 per Call Return, which I verified by calling back to make sure it was not a spoofed number.

I told AHP what the situation was, and they said they got my phone number from Data Guru.  I provided this information to the FTC, and told the FTC that Alliance Home Protection knows who made the illegal robocall.

Now we have a solid lead on this robocaller (Data Guru, which ties in with Tailbone Security LLC per my discussion with AHP), and maybe we can get it shut down.

Report them to the FTC Do Not Call List.  It is so easy and for the most part the calls stop once you report the number.

It is easy stop complaining and report the number.

yes actually they closed down a company that was running a scam similar to the Credit Card Services people. And I know a couple of people in financial services who by passed the phone system that prevented a broker from calling a number on the do not call list and got reported and fined a total of about $25,000 which they were personally responsible for paying. The woman I spoke with at the FCC said ethe best thing is to not answer and the calls will eventually stop. The FCC has been trying  for over a yr to track down the people with the credit card scam and she told me the numbers are spoofed, coming from outside the US and/or from untracebale cell phones. It is not perfect but the more people who call about the same thing, the better the chances are that the FCC will launch an investigation. My point was and still is that too many people just bi*** on these boards and expect someone else to report it or for someone from the DNC registry to be monitoring these boards. I asked that question and the answere was ...No they do not monitor these boards and by law can only investigate if someone who registered their number files a complaint.

I let the phone ring 4 times.  I picked-up.  Waited in silence for 2 seconds then hung up.

Best to say nothing.  I suggest that you hold the phone next to a loud radio for a minute or so - but say NOTHING.........................

Their machine has called my house several times offering to sell me a GE Security System.  Each time I hit one to have my number removed to no avail.  This last call I hit 2 and Steve was nice enough to tell me the Company calling was Security Promotions.  I told him I was calling because my number is on the do not call list and I needed information to file the complaint - he hung up immediately.  I filed the complaint.

I then went to GE's website and sent their corporate compliance dept an email asking that their vendor stop making harassing phone calls to my house and if it was by chance not their vendor - that they get a cease and desist order against the company.  I stated that if they call my house stating they are calling on behalf of GE, then GE is actually making the harassing phone calls and it is not appreciated.

I had a similar problem with another security service company and the calls did not stop after an email.   The calls did stop after I call one of the Director's house at night and had a conversation with his wife about the issue.  Let's see how this goes.

The reason the DNC does not prosecute more companies is because most of these scam artists use throw away cell phones that cannot be traced or they are fake numbers. How are they supposed to prosecute people who cannot be traced?  Do you really want a government agency monitoring your incoming calls? Grow up people. Don't expect the government to keep every person on the DNC list from getting unwanted calls and then piss and moan when they cannot. take on  some personal responsibility.

By now, everyone should have figured out that the FTC
DO NOT CALL LIST [so-called] IS JUST A BIG JOKE.
However, everyone should keep filing their complaints,
and to keep their own respective log regarding same.
Here is an example of my own personal log-book, which
is very easily and simply kept by using "TEXT:"

>> 802-488-3051 08-15-2012 7:06 PM
    =========================
    "ANSWERS"
I ANSWERED, AND GREETED BY: "CONGRATULATIONS, YOU HAVE BEEN
SELECTED TO RECEIVE A FREE HOME SECURITY SYSTEM" [ETC.]  WELL,
I "HUNG ON," AND "PUSHED THE 1," IN HOPES OF BEING ABLE TO "DRAG
SOMEONE ON AND ON AND ON," BUT "THEY" GOT WISE TO ME RIGHT OFF,
    SIMPLY HUNG UP.
    See: http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-802-488-3051

I keep a separate TEXT FILE named for each and every
number I receive these damned calls from, and then to
just add to it, most recent call at the top.

Nothing is going to happen on this, unless "EVERYONE"
continually bombards the FBI, your CONGRESSMAN,
your LOCAL TV NEWS, any and all NEWSPAPERS, etc.
I have been doing this myself, but will not continue to
be the only one doing it.  Strongly suspect that at least
the FBI has now "black-balled" my email name.  Either
that, or they simply responnd as "NOT READ," just as my
Congresswoman; Kay Granger of Texas has also done.
Here is her email address: kay@kaygranger.com
[please find yours as well?]

Below will be a list of all of the FBI Field Offices email
addressess, as well as USDHS, that I have found to be
vaild, in such a manner that should make it easy for one
to simply "COPY" and "PASTE" them into your email.
You might want to reference: Title 47 U.S. Code ~223

NOTE: Suggest you make your emails ?PRIORITY,? and

Though I agree that reporting these numbers is the way to go, I tried reporting several of the DOZEN or so calls from robocallers I receive each week. The official sites have a procedure that involves filling out a long form, each time . . . For me, hanging up, and then blocking each call individually, seems easier.

After recorded announcement you are given a choice. 1. talk to rep 2. number removed from call list.  pressing 1 Amy said "Security Service.  Are you interested in one of our systems?" I replied "Where is your main office?" She said "Were anywhere you want us to be." I said "No. Where is your physical corporate office?" She replied "I'll have one of our agents speak to you on that, please hold"  She didn't place me on hold, she hung up.
Deliberate bypass of DoNotCall policy.  Possibly a scam.
