I received and had to say hello several times, before anyone answered. She asked to speak to me and used the correct name. I said this is she, and then she said she was calling to reinstate the coverage on my vehicle and gave me the year, make and model of what I drove first she needed to confirm my information. I told her I didn't have that vehicle and she hung up on me.

I just spoke to "Kyle", demanding my $50,000.  From the conversation, I gleaned that they had my name, phone # and true address.  I assume they were using phone book for marks. I told the guy I had never heard of the address, and that I lived on the corner of Hardscrabble and Brickyard roads (pretty near the Direct Buy in Columbia SC).  I asked for directions from there and was asked which part of town I was in (north, south etc).  I was transferred to a woman, who attempted to give me directions.  I could hear furious typing on a keyboard in the background.  She sent me in the completely opposite direction, essentially to the Statehouse!  After multiple transfers and mass confusion, the woman told me to call back tomorrow, since it's already 10:00 "where you are".  Hmmmm, I asked "what time is it where you are?"  Reply was 10:00.  They got SO frustrated with me, that they just kept saying to call back tomorrow.  I gave up and told them that I had been lying the whole conversation.  The last man to whom I spoke continued to suggest I call back tomorrow.  I said "You mean I just told you I have been stringing you on and lying, and you still want me to call you back tomorrow?"  Bless his heart.  He frustratedly said yes.

Flustering the obviously clueless telemarketers for 15+ minutes, by asking the location of a facility by which I travel often was quite satisfying.  Having received SO many calls from areas with which I am not familiar, it was great getting a "local" call, so I could be 99% sure they were full of it!

Okay, I just called the boiler room back.  I got another Indian / west Asian man.  I asked where he was located, and he told me off Clemson road in Columbia SC.  Clemson road is pretty well known, so I asked him directions from Two Notch road, another heavily traveled street in Columbia that directly intersects Clemson road.  He could not tell me, and transferred me to a supervisor.  The female supervisor "could not understand me", which is odd in that I have a mild South Carolina accent, to which she should be accustomed if she is actually in SC.  She had no idea where Two Notch road was.  It's pretty infamous, because that's where the hookers in town hang out.  Everyone in Columbia pretty much knows that.  The supervisor said she would transfer me to their "directions manager".  I heard them talking about me in the background, then they hung up on me.  They are nowhere near Columbia SC, and haven't a clue where their facility is located.  This is likely a scam. Oh, and I had been selected to win some type of trip...yeah right. The phone # for Columbia Direct Buy is (803) 419-2315.  If you want to do business with them, try this number, or the Fort Mill number in my previous post.

Just received a call from this outfit.  The guy said his name was Mike David, with a heavy Indian or west Asian accent.  I just called Direct Buy in Fort Mill to ask if they were doing boiler room phone solicitations. I was connected to voice mail, but left a message with the members' service rep.  Their real phone number is 803-835-8950.  I am a resident of South Carolina, and neither of the Direct Buy locations in area code 803 have the number 803-454-9652.

It's telemarketing from Direct Buy in South Carolina. Fort Mill and Columbia. They want to make appointments to view their warehouses and are offering 3 day trips and 200 dollars in meals to national chain/local restaurants. Normally would not give the time of day to something like this BUT we're interested in Direct Buy anyway so we'll give it a shot.
