I got a call today from a local columbia number, (803) 754 2781,  saying I won a three day trip and $100 spending money and the chance to win a Cadillac Escalade or $50,000. The gentleman on the line had a thick hispanic accent so I could not understand him very well. I asked him to send me an email containing the details, he said he would and all I had to do was respond back to set up an appointment, the email has yet to arrive. Upon doing some research there appears to be a lot of people "winning" new cars.

This number just called my cell. I answered it but no one responded. ... are they fishing for something?

If you have Verizon Wireless, log in to your account. Under the Plan menu you'll see an option to block calls.  There is no charge, but you must re-enter the number every 90 days.

I have gotten several phone calls from this Archie Booker, phone number 803-754-278. When i answer they hang up. I tried calling back, but its either busy, or no one answers. What can I do to stop this annoying call?

This number has called me at least 4 times and when I answer they hang up...but only once it showed up Archie Booker T.  I tried to call it back and get no answer.

when this number rang a second time at my home I decided to answer it-if, for no other reason, than to learn just who this was calling:

the ID said: Archie Booker T (wft??)
the caller said she was representing " Direct Buy" that home furnishings/IKEA-type retailer with that  never-ending "contest" to "win" $50000 in services/furnishings from their agents/suppliers...

...I call this a Telemarketing scam
