They call me at least twice a week and when I push them for details as to what credit card they are with (I don't have any credit card accounts open) they hang up on me.  I am registered with the "do not call" list and am not sure where or why they have my number.  Is there a way of turning them in and getting this stopped?

I reported them to the FCC and the FTC online, they both have online forms to fill out.  I emailed them and told them that I had reported them and they replied that I should call them as email wasn't secure! haha

Here's my new tactic, I downloaded the sound of a fax machine connecting to my computer, now when I see AACC on caller ID, I hold the phone up to the speaker and playback the sound.  I'm hoping they think it's a fax line and remove it from their list!

This caller is a collections agent (AACC) who otherwise calls from 804-234-9044 and other similar numbers. Maybe such 'businesses' engage in all sorts of 'telemarketing' as well, but its probably just a trick to get you to respond to your friendly neighborhood uncollectable/expired-debt collector.

I get these calls almost daily.  Each time the message states this is my last notice.   The last time I was called I pressed 1.  The individual answered with "Do you want to lower your interest rate?"  When I requested the name of the company he stated that he represented Member Services and was working on behalf of the merchants.  He then started to request; if I had charge cards, how many, if the balances were over $3k. I would not provide the info and the rep appeared to become somewhat impatient and pushy.  I then hung up.   I don't trust these people.   Beware do not give out personal information.  If you want to lower your rates then you should contact the credit card company personally.

Saturday picked up and heard a recorded message from Heather saying there is currently no problems with my credit card debt but I was being offered a deal to lower my interest rates to as low as 6.9% and this was a limited time offer and this was the last notice I would receive. I pressed 1 to speak to a live operator. The live operator never picked up the line rang for almost a minute and then a heard another recorded woman?s voice say ?Sorry I am unable to do that at this time. Good bye.?

These guys had also called and left a message on my system on December 10

When I call this number back I get a poor quality recording of a woman with an accent (maybe Indian) who says ?You are calling from 704-982 3327 If this is the number you wish to remove press 1 now or if you would like to enter a number press 2 now? I pressed 1 and then heard my number repeated and the recorded voice say ?your number has been removed, Thank you, good bye?

I also called the number that GHB noted (321.246.8557 x 213) but it rang three times and then disconnected.

I have had the same problems.  They call me 2-3 times a day!!  They call my cell phone as well.  I pushed #1 to speak to a person and when I started to tell him I wanted off the list, he hung up on me!  I called the number listed and pushed 2 to be removed.  Someone really should do something about this abuse of the phone line - I DO NOT EVEN HAVE A CREDIT CARD AND I HAVE A PRIVATE NUMBER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

these calls are illegal.  the best way to stop them is to find out who they are then sue.  the best way to find out who they are is to pretend you are interested (without giving your personal information) and get as much information from them as possible--ie. where they are located, the real name of their business, a number to call back, a website, etc.  i was just called by this number and spoke to a guy named jim stevenson who gave me a call back number of 321.246.8557 x 213 and indicated that he was in florida.  when i asked for a website, he hung up on me.

Received first call, listened to entire message and pressed 2 "to be removed from our list."  Less than 2 hour later, received second call, pressed 1 to speak to a "live representative" whose first (and only) words were "Do you want lower rates?"  When I said no, he hung up.  These calls should be illegal!

I always hit 2 when this number calls. The same company calls me from other numbers as well. 2 is supposed to remove you from their list but obviously doesn't work. When you try to speak to a live person, and cordially ask them to stop calling, they don't even let you finish talking before they hang up.

The ID reads Lower Rates. They call almost every day sometimes twice a day. I tried to talk to someone and ask that they remove me from there list and they just hang up on me.
