Ugh, I received the same message and knew something was off when it wasn't just "hey I found the wallet you described come get it". Seemed strange that I was being asked for so much information. And then, less than 24 hours when my wallet was enjoying the sites Hong Kong..., we did exchange a few text though (from my email account) wherein I found that "mother" took ill right when my wallet was found. Such a shame. I wished mother good health, and thanked Jia for my renewed, no confirming my general skepticism.

Had apprehension but she contacted me about my wallet and I told her to mail it to the address on the ID. I have no intention to wire any money for this wallet, especially now that I know this is a scam. Thanks everyone for sharing... How can I go about reporting this?

I lost my wallet last night in Redwood City, CA, posted it to Craig's list and received a text from Jia Meixiu.  I texted back identifying information considering it to be on the level.  However, seems that within 24 hours, my wallet was in Hong Kong!!!  Obviously that was enough to indicate a scam.   I received the following e-mail:

Jia the deaf lady just sent me a text (via Craigslist) I didn't post my phone # on my kost wallet ad.  Apparently, she has done this reapetedly, even forwarding her number to a lady in Denver who lost their dog.  Jia demanded 200.00 ransom for the pooch.  Jia ytexted me and said she requires aANT AND ALL information so she know my lost wallet i mine.  Reort this vrook. Call the feds, local law or your local Hell's Angel's chapter to shut this scam down!! Just kidding about the Hell's angels.  I am going to get this perons address and have thwe cops pay her a visit,  Read Craigslist warnings abd you will see how posting there id risky and the people who are scamming CL posters are pond scym.  text 1-804-476-2626 and tell her the that "Orange is the new Black!"
