Prerecorded call about 2nd notice of warranty expiring on my vehicle. Obviously a scam as I don't own a car.

Got two calls from this number but left no message

I received a call at work with a pre-recorded message about a second notice for a vehicle warranty expiration (a "first notice" was never received, btw), and to press 1 to extend the warranty. I pressed 1 to get clarification on who they were and how they got my number. The person asked for my vehicle make, model and year. When I asked what company this was and how they got this number she immediately apologized and said the number was removed from their list. I again asked what company this was and the answer was "Warranty Services Division" so I asked "Division of what company?" and was told that is just the name of the company. I asked again how this number was reached, as it was a work number, and she apologized again and said the number is now removed, but the number she gave was one number off (must have been a misdial) so I asked her to remove the correct number as well (might as well save someone else the call) and then hung up.

Same deal as reported above. Quite frustrating. My friend received the same call as well a couple weeks ago.
SCAM!
Eerie timing though, as I just called in a service for my car earlier this morning. Still, some scam where I suppose they're trying to sell you a warranty or something? I don't even know.

I've had 4 different numbers call me which now i don't answer.

I have been getting this call for like 6 months every few weeks. I never really bothered to do anything about it; however, today I got the same pre-recorded message from the phone number 304-431-3460. I googled that phone number and it supposedly came from some poor lady in West Virginia (I doubt that). It was weird though, this call has always been a woman's voice, but this time was a man's voice. Scam!!!

I have been getting calls from them for months, on my cell phone, despite repeatedly asking to be removed from their list. I became irritated, then determined to find the name of their company. At last, success! They are http://myprogressivewarranty.com/
Let them know how you feel about all the phone calls :)
I don't think this place was a scam, though, since they actually seemed to know about cars and warranties. I think they just have terrible marketing practices.
