They are using a magic jack phone and calling from India thats why it shows up as a CA number. They most likely got your info from a payday loan site, Do NOT give them a dime it is a scam they will try to bully you into sending them money via western union. They call and claim to be with a law firm and will say things like "if you dont send $300 you will be arrested by the next day" or " you commited wire transfer fraud and will lose your job" these people use very simple american names exp John smith, Jessica jones, Brian davis, Nathan Rice. Do not worry they cant do anything to you but they do need to be reported.. I received these calls regarding a co-worker so I started to look into it. I called the number back and a man answered using a american accent but the more questions i asked the more upset he got and the indian accent came out. He refused to give me a address or even a fax number. A few mins later he called my co-worker at work threatning him saying a investigation team was on the way to arrest him. 2 mins later he called me back still claiming to be a lawyer I told him I had reported him to the police and he responded with "your a f**king stupid idiot woman' and hung up on me. You can report these people to  F T C the number is 877-382-4357 they deal with identity theft. Now time is money to these people its just a suggestion but calling these people and taking up thier time is keeping them from calling and scamming others they will become so annoyed with you they will stop calling, it worked for me :) good luck

It's a scam.  I get these phone calls with the same phony debt collector(s) making the same threats of lawsuits being filed against my name and social security number, threatened with arrest and so forth if I don't make or arrange to make a payment on a loan that I don't have.

This Person nathan rice called me and said I had an outstanding debt to a payday loan company. I have a Bankruptcy and should not have this debt. He convinced me it wasn't on the bankruptcy and I paid 495.00$ by a pre paid visa card. i faxed me driver's lisence info as well. I was made to be afraid I would be arrested if I did not pay. I now find out it was a scam and I am out that money. How can I go about insuring my info won't be used improperly for here on out.When another call came from a similar situation at a different phone number I became suspicious. I wish I had that same feeling the first time because I got taken.

I just called local authorities and was told that since I did not give any personal info, a crime has not been commited so there is nothing to report.

i recieved a call from that same person Nathan Rice from a number 805-262-6169 and also from a foreign speaking person from another number 951-582-4833 claiming that their a law firm for a David Cooper and that they are sueing me over a cash advance with a place called Cash Advance.USA! I dont have a clue who these ppl r, and i do not owe any money to these ppl.....they need to quit callin me!

Keep getting calls from 805-262-6169 they keep threating me, saying they are going to come to my job and have me arrested or served with legal papers. They say they are with Customer Affairs and Business Regualtions. This person say his name is Nathan Rice but has a heavy Indian accent. Is this real or a scam????

I just got a phone call from someone with a very heavy Indian or Pakistan ascent, telling me that I owe them 189.52 and that they will have the law enforcement at my office on Monday to serve me with papers and I will lose my job.  I got curious and goggled the number and discovered that I was not the only person they had done this to.  How and who can I report this to.  The person gave me the name of Alex Watson.

Woman Called With Very Hard To Understand Accent... Left Department Of Justice Affiliate Name And Same Call Back Number. When I Called Number, Voice Prompt Said " Mailbox Full ". Second Call, Rang 3 Times Then Automatically Disconnected. Woman Who Called Me Said Criminal Charges Were Filed On Me,I'm Located In Texas.... Call Originated From Newbury California... Supposed " Department Of Justice".... Little Did They Know I Am Attorney And If Charges Were Filed,They Would Have To Go Through Attorney General Of Texas Or Local DA's Office...SCAM !!!!!!! I Am Researching To File Charges Of My Own.....Do Not Fall For This CRAP!~!!!!!

The same men with foreign accents just called me and threatened to have the police at my job tomorrow to serve me with 3 lawsuits from a company "Cash Advance"  I told them I had no clue who that was.  Very Threatening.   Dont fall for it....
