Called on my cell phone and left no message.
I am on the do not call list !
Does not seem to matter , though .  I still receive calls like this.

This is a recording saying there has been and increase in crime in my neighborhood and that I can get a free security system.  Says to press 2 to stop calls but this does not work.  I called them back and they hung up on me.  Very annoying..

I work for a business and the above number is calling into our extension phones. The first thing it says is :"This is not a telemarketer call", but, it is. The caller ID says SECURITY, and they want to put an alarm in your house. They are getting various employees here during our working hours. I am sure they are terying to perhaps give one away to sell more, but, we are not interested and cannot take personal calls during working hours. How do we stop this?

Called my cell phone twice today, 2 hours apart. I didn't answer either time and no message was left. My cell phone is registered on do not call, but it doesn't seem to matter.

Many cell phones have a blocking feature. The best course to take is just block these numbers.

I found that for Michael J. McCaughan. Still doesn't verify whether or not he originated the message,
but Mr. McCaughan left enough clues to track him down if he is legit.

The phone companies which own the nation's data trunklines know everything. They know not only who makes millions of spam calls in violation of federal law, and know they get a hefty income by winking at the practice.

Thanks to your post, I know the number has been used by marketers.

The problem I have with their response to my attempted callback-- "If you want to be placed on our DO NOT CALL list, press #2"-- is that it tricks many into believing they have told a spam marketer to stop spamming them. Obviously, this is unlikely to happen, if the spam marketer is willing to break federal law to reach thousands of prospects per day.

Not only that, my concern is more than one company may use this number on a sort of time-sharing arrangement for automated dialouts of huge lists of telephone numbers.

Best practice is not to redial a mysterious call that goes unidentified on your call log.

Shut these scammers down.

We are getting several of these calls a day.  I pick up the phone, lay the receiver down and walk away so it leaves them hanging for a short period of time.  Perhaps they'll figure out that I am not a good candidate for their solicitation (or whatever it is they are doing). Time will tell.

Yes. I would like to also know that e-mail address. How do we know if they are on the up and up? It looks like if they were legit they would give a little more information. I answered the call and listened till they wanted me to press 1

Just received a call. The caller ID said SECURITY. I let my machine answer... It doesn't allow messages.

As far as I'm concerned the DNC system is a joke. I get more calls now than ever before.

Called me today. I didn't answer because I figured it was a telemarketer as well.  I'm on the Do Not Call List, so I'm not sure why they were able to get through.  Annoying.

I JUST HATE IT WHEN SOMEONE? CALLS AND THEY GET A MACHINE AND THEY STILL CAN'T UNDERSTAND THAT WE ARE NOT HOME AND THEY SHOULD LEAVE A MESSAGE.  I MEAN WHAT IS SO HARD ABOUT LEAVING A SIMPLE MESSAGE? IT REALLY ISN'T THAT HARD PEOPLE.

I received a call from this number today.  I placed an order for AT&T U-verse on the 11th and they asked if I had a security system.  Since then, I have received several emails, landline calls and cell phone calls pertaining to security systems!  Coincidence?  I think not.

I answered my phone today and it told me "THIS IS NOT A SALES CALL <-- bull$$$$" I was then told there is crime in my area (isn't there crime in EVERY area?!) And that I qualified for a free wireless home security (A. Wireless isn't the best security B. If it's free, that means they're getting something out of it).
So I recorded this message and forwarded to my lawyer. As victims, we must cut these criminals down to size. I'm on the DO-NOT-CALL list. I'm a computer programmer/technician for a corporation that requires me to keep my phone on loud at all times. These vagabonds are interrupting meetings.

We answered and it was a recording of a male's voice saying that "crime is rampant in your neighborhood" LOL and went on to say how I qualify for free installation of their security alarm system and to press a number to accept.  I hung up on their sorry a****.

They did not leave a message so I called this number back and got a recording saying "to be removed from call list press 1" i pressed 1 - we'll see what happens.

Got a call from the number:  let it go to VM but no message left.  Called them back and pressed "1" to be removed from the list.  Call went through to my cell phone.

Starts with a robo-call that it isn't a sales call, and crime has gone up in your area. Either I was recommended by a neighbor or the Attorney General for a "free" home security system. After pressing 1, Colby Lewis claims to be the manager of New Home Security  901 South College Road, Wilmington, NC 28406. Said they get their call list from the Attorney General when crime goes up in your area. I'm in PA. They do not check the do not call list. They are a distributor for Honeywell, but claims Honeywell doesn't solicit the call. He seems to be name dropping, and I'm guessing it's a cold call and there is not any list he is working from.

I did not answer and the caller did not leave a message.

They have dialed my cell number numerous times over the past several weeks and my cell is listed on the DNC registry.

This is the same marketing company - same message etc - that was calling from SC. Do Not Call is worthless. I researched which phone company owned the other number and posted contact info for them. Now the calls are coming from Indiana not SC: I found the FCC legal rep for these people

TELEMARKETER wanting me to buy a home security system.  I asked to be removed from their list but how do they get my number in the first place? I am on the DO NOT CALL list but apparently that isn't stopping people from calling my cell because I am constantly getting sales calls!!!

Just ignored a call from this number and got a 2-second voice mail that said "...(garble) are eligible for a free..." and then it ended. Strange.
