You have the wrong person

this individual has been sending me text messages and calling my phone constantly for the last week if I call them back I get a voicemail. They never answer. I do not have any business with this person. But yet they still continue to keep calling and text messaging me. I do not have time for this. I am a business professional. How can you help me? I got a call from "Hopkins law firm" saying there is a judgement against my name and social. I was terrified so i asked where and they said a payday loan but couldn't tell me where or when. They said i had an hour to come up with $715 and if i don't they will press charges for $8000, id be arrested and loose my job, etc... they hung up and i was frantic and confused. I called back to get more info. I was informed i was asking stupid questions and was running out of time. They hung up. I called a friend for advice, he is in the financial business and he informed me this was a scam.  While i was talking to this friend they called my phone every minute until i answered. I asked what the name of the lawyer was he said alex Turner and kelvin Jackson. I called back and demanded these "papers" they were serving me with... he said ill get them after i pay. I said ok I'm coming with cash where do i go. He said they don't accept cash only cc and western union. I said ill pick up my papers so I'm informed then ill pay cash. I wasn't going to but trying to play along. He screamed at me Western union then hung up. I called back. He hung up right away.  I called again and said ive called a lawyer and the police. He said see you in court on Monday and hung up. This was a terrifying day for me! I want to stop being harassed. How does this happen and how can i protect myself in the future?

i didnt get a call from this particular number. the number calling my phone was 0000, but i answered it anyway. some indian accented man told me this deserved my immediat eattention and this legal matter was very serious and that i was facing federal prosecution. so i let him tell me what this was about and then i went a bit nuts. these people actually have my ssn, driver license number, bank account and routing numbers and say i owe some company for a payday loan. this is not the first time i have been contacted by a payday scam. the first time i actually looked it up and found that the scammers calling me were actually removing money from people's bank accounts in large amounts and causing people to be unable to pay their bills. once they have your account and routing numbers, the only thing you can do to stop them from taking your money is to close that account and open a new one. i did that. now a new scammer has my new account information almost a year later and i am going to have to close this account and open a new one again. this is getting pretty ridiculous, especially since i am on the Do Not Call list, as are probably a good majority of the people in this country. it doesnt matter. they will continue to call until they figure out they will not get anything from you and move on. i dont know about any of you, but the phone call just made a bad day even worse. LOL

I received a call at my job on 121608 from a man with a heavy accent.  He gave the spill about where he was calling from and that I owe a debt form Quick Payday and I stopped thr check and needed to contact my attorney or give him my attorney name. He asked me a whole lot questions and I explained to him I filed a chapter 7 in 2004 and needed to check my papaers and call him back.  I called him back the next day to get some info like when was the original debt and ho much.  o could tell he was wild guessing because he couldn't tell me how much the original debt was either.  I told him I needed that to check my info and he began to get testy with me. He asked if I had a debit card and i said yes he asked for the number # but I refused.  I said I will need to havy lawyer check them out and he really started to upset with me.  Well, to make a long story short I didn't give him my # and I told him will call him back once i check them out.  i went online and this is what I pulled up. I'm so glad i did because i was really afraid that I would go to jail even if I didn't remember this debt.

I get phone calls at work on the last thursday of every month and boy do they get pissy when you hang up on them...will try that police on the line line..thanks....anybody else get on the dot phone calls?

Very thick accent, hard to understand other than threatening.

I received 3 calls in the past 2 days from a Kevin Jones stating he was from Legal Affidavit Co(772-228-4009), Quik PayDay (949-743-0198) or Kevin's cell # (321-445-2194) telling me that I owed them money.  This Kevin person has a very thick accent.  Also telling me that my file is going to me downloaded to the court and i will be arrested.

Keep calling my home number threatening me that if my attorney of record doesn't call them back that I should be assured that this message won't be disregarded. And a whole bunch of other garble that I cannot understand.. Something to do with "God be with me" and wish you good luck. I dunno, something needs to be done about this as it is getting very old very fast.

I have been getting these same calls at work and home. They have called me at work 6 times on thursday the 25th and the secterary just hunged up on them.  I don't owe no money and reported this 2 times now with my sherriff dept. and they also call this number and they said they didn't tell me that I would be arrested.  The sheriff said to me don't send no money, and they sound like a scammers to him.  I want it to sop but it won't.

I had been getting these calls at home and work.  Daniel Page & Jeff both have called me.  Daniel Page stated this was from a payday loan back in 2005.  Told me that they would take me to court, I would lose my job and he would tell my supervisor what all I had done.  He said he had 3 charges against me.  Cost me $3000 if it went to court but only $1740. out of court.  Told me they would settle for $744.00.  They kept calling me all the time - at work, home & cell phone.  I can't have personal calls at work so this really upset me.  I did pay $200.00 so far but have since then cancelled my credit card so they won't receive anymore.  I should have known this was wrong when he wouldn't send me any information in the mail or my email that I did owe this.  What can they do to me now??????  Afraid the phone calls at work will start again.  I can't afford to lose my job, I'm a single mother.

I received a phone call from these people about a payday loan that was paid back two years ago and they claim they will take me to court. These people are fake

I received 3 calls in 2 days from a Jeff Morgan of Morgan & Associates stating that I owe $ from a past payday loan from quick payday.  I owe no money to this and this is not the first call I got from these different accent people.  I have told my local police dept. and they call the numbers I give them and talk to these people and deny what they say to me.  I got 2 different numbers and no where close to matching.   I google it and find they complaints on them.

I thought these people were banned from operating out of Florida?

These people called my home today.  It was a guy with a heavy accent.  He doesn't speak very well.  He was rude and obviously doesn't know his laws.  The person he is looking for doesn't live here.  He called 7 times today.  6 times straight.  I called them back and spoke to a supervisor named Kevin.  I was told that the person that called is named Steve.  The corporate address he gave is  1408 Bayview Ct.  Fort Meyers, FL 33201.  I am going to confirm this before I mail my complaint to the corporate office, Attorney General, and my attorney.  They are in violation of FDCPA.

Last year before I found this website these people took me for $450. After I found the site I swore never again. Well, Friday a guy with a heavy indian accent named Mark called me and said I owed $550. He called me at work so I told him I could not accept personal calls at work and hung up. Well he called my cell phone but I didn't answer. He left two "pay or else" messages. Today he called me at work again, I told him I had researched them on the internet, that they were a scam and this was nothing more than extortion and not to contact me again. He asked if I doubted the legitimacy of his business, so I told him yes and that he should google his own phone number. Ten minutes later a different guy same heavy accent called and asked how I was doing. Told him I was getting annoyed with them and then kind of hush hush,like he was talking to someone next to him, I heard him say my name and then he hung up. If they call again I will alert the authorities. If they call you DO NOT belive a word and DO NOT send them money. There is nothing they can do. I mean come on, someone with that heavy of an accent with a name like Mark Ivey. Last time it happened it was a heavily accented indian women whose name was Ebony.lol

This number called my cell phone and said I had not paid back a payday loan from 2006 from US Bank and that I was going to court unless I settled by tomorrow.  They had ny foormer bank name, my address and where I worked.  They also had ny social security number.  What can I do about this?

I also received a call today from a guy with a thick accent stating I should call him back or my lawyer should call back regarding an urgent matter against me. It's all a scam. These foreigners should be prosecuted.  This scam has been happening for months now from other phone numbers and other people with thick accents calling claiming they have your social security number and asking for money to pay a so called debt. The police should be doing all they can to catch these scam artists.

I received a call myself.  Dont believe them, they are total scam artist. They change there phone #'s constantly and call back.  I have tried to file a police report; however,  there is nothing they can do.  At least thats what I'm told.  This time he made a mistake, he threatened my saftey, and I have it on my voicemail.  The police will hopefully intervene now.  This is getting out of control.  P.S.S...If your like me and get these calls from different phone #'s, you'll notice it's the same guy with a heavy accent giving out different names.

I receive these phone calls months ago and now I'm receiving them again. Some individual with a hard accent which makes it hard to understand. He threatened me that I will go to jail and pay court fees up to $10000. He told me my SSN, my previous checking acct, and my previous workplace. He kept trying to intimidate me and ignore everything I had to say. The next time I receive a phone call from them OH THEY WILL GET A MOUTHFUL.

I received  a call form these people also today, but i have been through this before. this is a a scam they say that you owe money for a loan that was taken out over d4 or 5 years ago that has added all this interest on to it  to  have you believe that you owe them thousand of dollars and if you call them. They take the interest off. but if you don't pay them what they want they try to scare you into believing that you will be arrested at your place of employment or at your home. Then they say that they are going to download your file to your local court, and that you will be charged as  grand larceny and if the file is downloaded you will have pay back like. $8,000 to $10,000 dollars for attorney fees and court cost. If you do call the number back they are going to ask you to send the money Moneygram  or by credit card only and  but it is all scam report them to the Federal trade commission.  because the Federal Trade commission states that no one can call you and harass you or threaten to collect a debt they also can not tell you that you are going to be arrested if you don't pay the money that they are asking for you to pay. A bit of advise is to when they call you tell them you have your local police stattion on the line and they are recording this telephone call they will leave you alone.

Received a call today from a woman this time. For months it has been a male but now they are using a female. I told them that they had the wrong number and I have turned the threats back on them but they continue to call. I have filed a police report and I am in the process of contacting my local Attorney Generals office.

Yes file a police report.  Their scam artist. Also call the Federal Trade Commision, and file a complaint. Dont believe anything these people say. I've received calls from them in the past at different phone #. What they do is once they get up at one #, they disconnect that line, and get a new #. It's so important we ban together and file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commision, they work for the government.  If we get enough complaint's we may just catch these criminals.

This guy keeps calling me and he has an accent. He odes not say where he is calling from or why he is calling but he tells me that I need to call him back or my attorney needs too. He gives me a number to call back and that I need to do it right away. He tells me it is regarding a time sensative issue. He wishes me good luck.
