Go to the funeral home, tell them to call off the collection agency or they will get nothing in the future.  As an alternative, you could change your phone number.  If you tell the collection company that they are not to contact you.  If they do, you can sue the collection agency.  In order for them to take your home they would actually have to take you to court, get a judgement, then file it, etc, etc.  Its not something that happens quickly.  If the funeral home wants to pursue the debt in a nasty manner, make sure everyone knows what they are doing.  Picket the place if you have to.

Calls every day, even told them thay had the wrong number and they still call

Called at 4:44pm. Collection agency collecting a debt for a funeral home. Have been making regular monthly payments to said funeral home. The funeral home never sent anything other than a monthly statement. No letter indicating this debt was being sent to a collection agency. No letter from the collection agency has ever been received stating the amount of the debt or that they have been hired by the funeral home to collect this debt. This collection agency is threatening to take my home if I do not either pay the debt in full or make payments of $700/month. I am on Social Security and only receive just over $800/month. I told them that I could only afford to make the payments I am already making. They said this was unacceptable but when I asked them to put that in writing, they refused. Any suggestions?
