A Steve Gotti keeps calling and not having enough information for which he represents, or the fact that he is rude. Why do I want to co-operate? If I owe this debt. then please provide me with documentation or give me Stop calling or be ready to get hung up on!!!

Sorry was typing too fast. Again Google is available to anyone who wants to get info on any legit company. Many of us have access to the internet on our very own phones in which we can google the company that just called.

And what happens when you receive the verification of debt? Nothing bc most people in this country ignore their legal obligations. Stop making excuses about some company in India bc with all the technology we have today its easy to look up someone/something on the net and find out if it's legit.

It never ceases to amaze me the ignorance of people in this country of ours. This isn't 1980. It's 2014. If you really wanted to know who was calling you Google isn't too far than a mouse click away.

Reply to "Say What!"- Many of these debt collector calls are from organized crime in India. Debts that people don't even owe. Best defense is always- "Sorry I dispute this, please send me a registered letter with validation of debt." Then hang up & DON'T take any more calls!

Yeah well it is about paying your bill because it's deadbeats like you is the reason we all pay more for goods and services.

As for consumer rights, companies also have a right to collect their money that you legally owe. People in this country need to stop making excuses for the dumb decisions they chose to make. Honor what you sign and you won't have debt collector jerks calling you. That is why I pay my bills instead of coming on these forums and whining about some jack*** debt collector.

This isn't a discussion as to whether or not we should "Pay our bills".

It is about our consumer rights regarding the collection of debts.

It's one thing if a debt is out of statue but it's a totally different issue when the debt is legally owed and you expect to be treated like someone important in the world. Pay your bill and stop making excuses for yourselves.

People are being hounded for debts in which the SOL has expired, they don't owe, belong to someone else or have been discharged in bankruptcy.

When you're in collections there is no customer service bc you are not a customer. I am not saying that gives them the right to be rude but again if you fail to pay your bills then you can't expect to be treated like royalty.

He's a j***-off bill collector that calls all the time. Even when you tell him to send it to your credit because you refuse to pay he KEEPS calling trying to change your mind. He's rude, cocky, and domineering and I just answer the phone to tick him off now since he's ruined so many of my days by being a jerk.

Steve Gotti claimed that payments to the agency bounced which were false and misleading. There were no bounced payments. Another Representative from the same Collection Agency (Hunter & Warfield) confirmed that there was no record in their system reflecting any bounced or returned checks regarding this specific account. Hunter & Warfield through it's collection representative, Steve Gotti, provided false and misleading information in connection with the Collection of a Debt.

If a collector from a licensed agency calls you asking for a relative or friend they are by law not allowed to disclose information without the debtor's authorization, if you actually care about the person they're asking you for, instead of being rude, getting upset or yelling at the collector keep in mind that he's only doing his job and also obeying the FDCPA rules and be a little bit helpful

Got this same call from this jerk...was very evasive he was looking for my brother but never said why...I didnt give any info, he kept saying it was personal
