These people are absolute pain in the butt telemarketers.  They pretend they are personal friends to get in and get through the secretary.  They act very informal and use first names and cozy greetings.  When we realize it's a scam (which is pretty quick to tell), we hang up the phone.  This triggers a barrage re-dials to us that doesn't end for some time.  It completely disrupts our business.  Federal Suppliers and/or their telemarketing supplier (??) definitely should be charged with harrassment.  Don't use, don't do business, and don't take any calls with anyone calling from "Federal Suppliers".  It's a scam and they are inscrupulous.

Our office manager took the call and said they asked for me by first name.  Thankfully they hung up before I could say 'Hello.'

"Federal Supplier's Guide, Inc." claims to sell space in a non-existent guide for government contracts, with a little quick googling it reveals that no-one ever scammed by them ever got anything for the hundreds/thousands of dollars they were tricked into giving these guys.

Called at 8:04am, no message left.  I think I talked to these guys months ago though and listened to their shpeel.  They tried convincing me that I needed to put a listing in their guide so people could look up my product before my competitors (a product which hadn't been on the market yet so no one would even know to it look up).  I tried explaining this to them and they couldn't grasp the concept and just kept repeating the same shpeel which didn't answer any of my questions or concerns.  They sound convincing at first, then like idiots when questions arise.

No message left.

A guy with an accent called our main business line this morning, asking who would be the person he would speak concerning bidding on Government jobs/work. I told him I don't know and he replied that it may be the owner or president of the company. There is a lot of noise on the background so I immediately suspected that it's a scam. Therefore I put him on hold and looked up on Google and found this site (thank you all)! Then I told him the owner is not available and if he wants to leave a voicemail. He said he would call back later and hung up.

So I told her that she should do more research before calling places of business, wasting our time. She hung up on me.
When I try to ring the # back, it's just a fast busy signal.

How do companies like this make $$?? No one listens to their nonsense, and they're usually the ones disconnecting the call when they're backed into a corner.

There was also a lot of noise in the b/g which was a dead give-away that it was yet anther TELEMARKETING CO, pretending t/b something they're not.

harassing phone calls trying to sell places in nonexistent government contract guide

Caller called before 8:00 a.m. and said they were with GSA Federal Supply.  The caller wanted to be hired to help obtain a GSA contract for money.

I just got a call from this number as well... they didnt leave a message though.

Looks like telemarketing to me, to encourage you to buy advertising with their company. The lady was nice but persistent, I eventually hung up on her.

Rcvd call from "Tara Parsley" at "Federal Suppliers" wanted to if we bid on Govt Projects? Confirmed that we were a small business, then asked to speak with president or owner. She did have our Owners name and wanted him to call her about "Federal small purchase program" contracts for government work. She left her number with me of 813-449-6453 x-1131. After finding this sight I did call back and asked that our name & number be removed from their calling list. We will see what happens. ???

For the last several days received calls from 813 343 7063 ext 5029 They left a message they are a federal supplier
and she was a procurement specialist.  I called back many times, left messages and now the line says they are not taking calls.  So I looked the number up on google.... and low and behold I saw this.... so I am posting it and if I get a call again... I'll let you know

When I answered the phone and said "Hello", they said that they had dialed the wrong number.  Appears to be a telemarketer of some sort that when you answer with "hello" they say they have dialed the wrong number.  I believe they do this because they know that our number is on the Do-Not-Call list. However, if I had answered with our small business name they would have probably tried to push some scam.  Too bad the politicians have allowed small businesses to be harrassed by allowing telemarketers to call small businesses day & night.  Don't the politicians get it?  The more time I waste on the phone, the less I make and the the less tax's I pay!!  DUH!!

Lots of background noise.  They hung up when I answered.

Call came through on 813-343-7063 - it's a telemarketing firm called "Federal Suppliers." Ken Briggs wanted to speak to the president (we are a small home-based business) about gov't contracts. Gave his call back number as 813-449-6453 x1132

Received call on my cell phone, which is listed on do-not-call list.  Will report to FCC.  Probably one of those "let us help you get federal contracts" that you can get yourself.

called and ask if we were interested in federal contract work.  Noisy call center in background.  Ask for fax # and e mail which I did not give out.  Call back didn't answer and left message about government contracts.

Uh oh, A person called from this number and left another number to call back to set up an appointment with me, then claimed they could only pay by check.  I felt suspicious so I set up them to mail me and gave my PO Box number, which is closed after Nov. 30. Because of that suspicion and the suspicious answering machine at the number they called from I'm on here checking out the number that was left and the company.
 I'll let you know what I find out or what trouble comes in.

Got a call from this number too, did not leave me a message, tried to call back, received no answer.  Looked up number says it is in St. Petersburg FL.

Same as above ... no one was on the line once I answered.  Its a Florida area code.

I didn't answer when the call came in, but I did call the number back.  The answering machine message I heard was from "Wendy" of Federal Supply -I think she also mentioned FEMA.

This number called and claimed they had the wrong number the second I said "hello" - before they asked for anyone specific, and before either of us had identified ourselves.  Obvious call center noise in the background.  I'm afraid it was a test call to see if anyone answered this number, and the worst is yet to come in terms of tele-marketers.
