The thing about responding to inquiries from Craigslist is that now they have your e-mail address.  I always post that only those inquiries that include a phone number will be responded to.

I posted an ad on craigslist looking for my lost dog, and got this in response (read this entire post ~ I promise you, it's worth it!) I've already reported him to CL, but it gets better!

Hello,

I saw that you posted an ad, "LOST ~ Min. Australian Shepherd", on craigslist back on 2/26/2010. Have you had any luck with that?

Anyway, I work with a company that does a lot of business with Google, Facebook, Myspace, and Yahoo, and we are looking to fill a few part-time positions in the tampa area. There is no selling involved; it's more of a data entry position, and we're only looking for people who can work from home. Starting pay is $300-$500 a month, depending upon your level of experience. There is a possibility in the future, if it works out for the both of us, that you can work full-time if you want - but that can be discussed later.

We like to work with people on Craigslist, because there isn't much training involved that we have to do - since you obviously already have the basic skills needed to work with us (you pretty much know your way around a computer and the Internet, and know how to use email and follow basic instructions).
You can go to this website for more information, and apply to get started. We're hoping to get a few people hired by early next week, so if this sounds like something that you're interested, then just go to the website to apply.

Take care,

I next sent this to the guy who sent the email (and to everyone in my contact list):

I think you are disgusting ~ trolling people in pain for your own benefit. May you rot in hell.

(then I added this to his website)

Ivan, you are a disgusting excuse for what passes for a human being. I posted an ad online trying to find my missing dog and got THIS POS from you! HOW DARE YOU! Do you intentionally prey on people's agony, or was it an accident this time? I've reported you to the website from which you obtained my email; hopefully they will be able to block your further access to their real users.

You are simply one of the most ghastly and macabre entities (because I just cannot use the word "person" to describe you) which I have come across in many, many years.

Since comments must be approved by the administrator I shall assume that mine will not be seen here ~ but others have seen this and are equally appalled by you.

Hope you never lose a dog - or anything/anyone else you love (although again, I find it difficult to conceive of anyone loving a being such as yourself.)

Also - do you happen to watch MSNBC? I see a spot for you on Keith Olberman's "Worst Persons in the World" segment ~
