My message reads: Your co-op services CU account is closed due to unusual activity.  Please call us now.
"I don't think so!"

You are right the name is misspelled!! Hahah What a dumbazz Scam!!!

I got the same exact message.. This obviously a scam!! Sunday, November 2, at 8:04PM and I also don't have a Teche bank account!!!

I forgot to say that the word Federal was misspelled "Fedral"
Scammers are really stupid!

I don't have an account with Teche.com and I got a text with this return number that my account was closed.  I am not calling it.

I also received a call on my cell phone today.  Thought it was very strange, because I do not deal with a bank with the name Federal Bank.  I did call the number back, but did not leave any information.  First time this has happen to me.  I did a google on the number and found this helpful information.

I received this message Nov 2, 2008 at 3:13 pm.

I suspect something is up with this and will not call the number. The biggest giveaway is that I do not have a Teche Federal Bank account.

I also recd this and upon investigation it appears it is from overseas where there is no federal regulation of long distance charges, people that have called these numbers back have been slammed with thousands of dollars of long distance charges and you have no recourse because your carrier will say you made the call...it sucks any way you look at it. Spread the word!

I received a text similar to everyone else (but referencing cudrive.org) at 5:12pm on 10/30/08.  Cudrive.org is a legit web site but has posted a fraud warning on its site related to this text.  FYI, I have TMobile, not Sprint.

All three of us in our household got the same text message last night....german american bancorp.  We have Sprint cell service.  Could that be a common ground....someone harvested Sprint #'s????????????????

I received the same text message at 8:00 at night.  I knew I didn't have a German American Bancorp acct either but I called and they also requested my credit card information.  How in the world did they get my cell phone#?

I just received the same text at 9:15pm     "Your German American Baincorp account is closed due to unusual activity, call us now 18136001551.   I called Jasper Police dept to report.   I also do not have a German American bank account

I just reported it. I didn't call because I never even heard of them and knew for a fact that it was some kind of scam. I've gotten similar e-mails like this from banks I don't have accounts with too.

Received a text message from "cscu.org" which reads: "Subject: Notice   Your CO-OP SERVICES CU account is closed due to unusual activity,call us now at 18136001551."

I received this text message on my phone based in Kalamazoo, MI; this credit union has branches in Michigan. I do not have (nor ever had) an account with this organization. I currently reside in California.

What's interesting is that the phone number's area code suggests it is based on Tampa, FL - unusual for a Michigan organization. I called the number and they did not identify themselves as CSCU, but rather a different organization. I tried calling again and now it says "Leave a message for mailbox [...]"
Another interesting note: The number (when it worked) was requesting credit card information, but with a computerized voice. Usually they use actual voice recordings. I don't remember the last time I called in to a banking organization and actually reached a computerized voice.
The text message itself is bizarre (with a grammar mistake). I received a text message, and yet, no phone call. Why would a bank send a text message to assist someone with account fraud?

All around, it is very fishy, and I plan to report it to cscu.org. I would urge that anyone who receives this message or calls this number -- do not give them sensitive information unless you've confirmed its legitimacy.

Me too, WTF I dont have a German American Bank account.   I called they want my credit card information....not this time....
