I entered into a chance to win a stove from kmart. The telemarketer tried telling me they needed permission from the homeowner to have them do some type of water test SERIOUSLY????!!!! then I would receive a $25 giftcard for kmart. Why the hell would I give them such permission?! ITS VERY ANNOYING

These are effective ways to deal with those unwanted calls. Caller ID will pretty much tell you whether or not it's a telemarketer. If it is: 1) Hit your connect button and immediately and repeatedly hit your # (pound) key. After about 15 or so seconds, hit your disconnect button. The "caller" will think they have dialed a non-working number. 2) If you want to have fun with the telemarketer, play games with them. Demand they sing you a song or tell a joke. If they ask for you by name, tell them that that person died last month. If they ask, "How are you today", tell them you've just been diagnosed with a terminal illness and have been given 4-6 months to live. Turn the call into an obscene one. Whatever the case.....turn the table on THEM.

I signed up to win a free Washer and Dryer from Kmart.... (at their store) and this is the result. These people used that promotion to start callng me. Since I signed up for the sweepstakes they say that they now can call me legally, because I gave them permission.

Caller says he's from Florida Power but they are not my power company. They're trying to get into people's homes to see if our home conserves energy. Why would a power company that doesn't serve my area call me and say that I'm on a list of new homeowners and they want to come visit my home? Also, how did this so called power company that doesn't have this number listed to them get my cell phone number? I've owned this house for 11 years and I'm on a Do Not Call list.
