Got the same exact call here at work, Same exact script. It was a definite red flag. I refused to devulge a name for her and told her that whatever information she sends will go to the right person. She insisted she needed to send it to the building manager's attention. I told her again that it will get to the right person. She said thanks and hung up but I suspected she knew I was on to her and decided not to press the issue.

I shared the same experience as the other posters.  I suggest sending an email to their "senior management" that is just as rude and scathing as the calls we receive from their sales department:

I have had these calls in the past.  They just tried it again with one of the gate keepers, asking for my cell number.  They have been nothing but rude when I wouldn't buy for them.  They are very pushy.  I told them more than once to send a catalog and KEEP there ""free gift"".  Never did get a catalog or a ""free gift""  I agree with Greg's comment above about candles :P

one of your "sales associates" just called and asked who our maintenance guy was.  i stupidly told her his name.  i will add that not only was she lacking in politeness,  she was eating something while she was talking to me, or else she was smacking on gum.  very unprofessional.  next time she'll go to the extension that we send telemarketers where it just rings and rings and rings

They have been calling all of our business lines for the past few weeks using the same pitch, "Who handles your maintenance". I don't think they realize we own about 100 websites  and it all rings to the same office.

Please remove this number from your call list!  252-402-6001(cell phone).  Received call this morning from Brittany and she was very curt with my wife when asked who she was and what she wanted!  I have NOT contacted this company and do not want any more calls from this company!  Thank you!   Roy Allen

Our "maintenance guy" is a chick and we're a goverment agency, so we are our own lighting company.

Just recieved a call from a guy asking to speak with our "maintenance guy."  We are a consulting firm and do not have any kind of maintenance department.  When I told him that he asked to speak with the office manager.  This is obviously some kind of sales/solicitation call.

Remove number 940-692-4988 from calling list.

Jerk from The Lighting Company called my cell with the Bubby Routine. What an idiot. How can these people possibly stay in business? Having a job like that speaks to the poor economy.

Very RUDE....Called and asked if I could page a specific person in our maintenance department.  They actually got the name correct.  I told him I did not think he was in the building and he insisted that I just page him and he would hold the line.  After I went back to the line I told him that this person did not call me back and he insisted that I give him his cell phone number.  He kept saying that he had to give him an update on the lighting.  He said he was from the lighting company.  So I asked if this was in regards to a current job in one of our buildings or if this was just a sales call.  He just kept saying he had to give him an update.  When I asked for a number to call him back he would not give me one.  He asked for a voice mail and I said he didnt have one.  Finally he gave up and said he would call back.

Well good luck getting past ME!!!!!!!!  I have caller ID and that is how I found this site.  I googled the number he called from.  What a scam.  Get a life!!!!!!!!!!

First, if you want to get through the gatekeeper, do not tell him/her to settle down and stop being confrontational, especially if he/she has been quite polite. Also, do not be condescending to the person answering the phone - you never know who it is on the other end.

Had a call from these people today and the sales guy on the end kept trying to get me to give him my full name, work cell numbers of maintenence people - we don't have either of these. I know telemarketing is hard, but being pushy and condescending is not the way to get someone to agree to purchase your product or even listen to what you want to propose.

Learn good business practices!

If you get a call from these people and decide to take them up on the offer of a free gift they want you to spell your name for the shipping department. DON'T DO IT! They are recording it and can use it as authorization to ship and invoice you for whatever they are selling.

This guy calls and doesn't introduce himself and asks me who takes care of our maintenance.  I had to ask multiple questions to figure out what he meant...as we have multiple locations that do different aspects for our company.  After finding out what he truly wanted I told him that our building handle that as we lease our office space.  He immediately turns OFF the charm, curtly thanks me and hangs up.  I had to go into my call log on my phone and look up the number to find out what company he works for.  You're people are rude and we will not be doing business with your company E-V-E-R!!!!!

UGHHHH they just called me too! Very very very rude! We rent our office, we don't use any maintenance people. I hung up and she called back and told me that I'm rude! Are you serious?! They don't even know who they're calling! I'm too busy for dumbass phone calls like that. Get a real damn job!

That's exactly what happened to me today. 6-6-12 at 10:20am.

Received a call today from a very nasty sounding person. He kept asking for the maintenance manager's name. I told him "We don't have one." Then he wanted to speak to the owner. What a joke!

The fact that 2 of the people have their "business" email listed on AOL should tell you what kind of a business they are.

I had the same experience as the others who posted here. He called 2 days in a row. The first day he got the owner's first name out of me. Her name is Kris. So he called back the next day asking for his "bud Kris." I don't know of anyone who would refer to her as their "bud." He became rude and pushy when I wouldn't get her on the phone and wouldn't give him her cell phone number. I mean he was totally disrespectful! My business deals with mothers of babies and toddlers so a guy calling and slapping me around verbally is very unusual. I hope they all go bankrupt very soon and leave everyone alone.

Had Stephanie Schmidt call from this number and was incredibly rude...

So this lady calls in (guessing the same southern lady) because she seemed nice..asking for the maintenance guy. (we have a few techs so I wasnt completely sure it was a cold call). So I said he's not here would you like to leave a message. And she insisted on having his cell phone. I advised he didnt have one, her attitude changed immidiately and raised her voice to say "Well I was only trying to make this easier!" Geesh! Was that really necessary? Dont waste you time calling and being rude..you are already hated for telemarketing, dont add to it!

Your sales people are among the rudest I have ever experienced. We will not be accepting ANY phone calls from your company....EVER

They called.  Couldn't get who they were looking for and just hung up.  They are probably theives, probably from Nigeria, using the FL location as a front.
