These people have done the same to me, using the names Jenny and Daniel McCorkle, with the phone number of 424-261-7990.  Contact the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov or 1-877-382-4357 and file a Fraud/Scam complaint.  Also, go to IC3.gov to file an Internet Crime report, as these people are using the internet site of Craig's List to list properties that they don't own in an attempt to get money.  These agencies don't act on individual complaints, but they look for trends--if they get your information in addition to my reports, and maybe complaints from other people, perhaps they will start to see a trend and act on it.

I've already posted my experience with Mr. Richard & Lauren Colliver. We were lucky to read some of these messages before sending our money. Sorry to those whom didn't get a chance to find out the truth before it was too late. After finding out they were frauds I sent this message just to see what he says.>>>>>

Thank you! This is so exciting.  Very happy, very happy. we will have somewhere to go when we get to Salt Lake City! What is the best way to send you the money? We are interested in paying 6 months up front, should we just take care of that right away? Thanks again. Remain blessed.

(They responded very quickly lol)

>>>Hello Carly,

How are you doing today? We appreciate all your references who have helped I and my husband go through this process with you. Through their sincere description of your personality, I and Richard were able to make a final decision on you. And we believe you are the best choice for our house.

Paying 6 months upfront is ok with us, kindly get back to us for the  account details where your payment will be deposited.

It was weird that there was an invitation homes for rent sign in the actual yard of the home but the person I was contacting stated they lived in CA. The listing was on hotpads.com The emails I received about the listing are WORD for WORD as shown in other postings. It's very disappointing an goes to show you can't trust anyone in today's world.

Hello,

My maintenance man will be on duty today So you can also drive by to look through the house. He works 2 hours  a day, once every 2 weeks and he will be available today. I hope you can meet up with him. if you don't I will advice you look through the windows  or possibly try back in 2 weeks if we have not rented yet. I and my husband currently live in California. We also want to make it clear to you that our house will be taken off the market once it's rented out. Long/short term lease is available.

We basically want a clean and decent tenant, who would always pay on time. We don't want any trouble maker, no smoking or heavy drinking in the house. And also, no dangerous pets (snakes or wild cats inclusive). Our  renting process is on a first come first serve bases. So we will be renting to whoever shows more interest, fits our description after we preview his/her application, signs our Lease Terms and  puts down payment for our house first($625 monthly rent with utilities included besides cable/internet and $525 security deposit). This shows seriousness and we will be sure of your punctuality in subsequent rental payments. So get back to us for our Rental Application if you are interested.

Stay blessed,

Mr. John & Gail Sanders.

Gwinnett County police investigators are warning potential renters to beware of ads for houses on Craigslist.

The department believes a Nevada-based company, Home Solutions Asset Company, is offering homes for rent without having a right to the properties.

"These prospective tenants or occupants, as they're called in these particular cases, are meeting with a representative of the company; someone who presents them with keys and paperwork and actually allows them into the home," says Cpl. Jake Smith.

He says detectives have found at least four homes in Gwinnett County where occupants have been scammed including Ruth Roberts who rented not one, but two homes from the company.

The first one in Lilburn she rented had window damage, significant water leaks, and no furnace.

"I started to feel uneasy when they wouldn't come and do the repairs as they said they would," she tells WSB's Sandra Parrish.

Roberts was told she could have the repairs made herself and deduct that amount from her $800 monthly rent. When she asked to move out and have her deposit and first month's rent returned, she was told she could move into a second home on Stancrest Lane in Lawrenceville.

Both of the houses she rented from the company had had the deadbolts removed from the front doors.

"When they brought me into the house I thought well maybe everything is legit because how can they have access to different homes," she says.

But it was the neighbors who notified the homeowner, who had moved to New York, that someone was living in the house.

Four days later, police showed up at Roberts' door and explained she had no right to be there.

Detectives followed the trail to Chrischon Ellis, who herself had rented a home from the same company in June.  When warned at the time by code enforcement officers of a possible scam, Ellis refused the move.

Smith says the woman ended up taking a job with the company as the secretary for the Atlanta representative facilitating clients for him including Roberts.

Ellis has been charged with theft by taking and detectives are currently working to make more arrests in the case.

Smith says the company appears to be operating in other states including California and Nevada and the department plans to work with other agencies to go after the owners.

Meantime, while Roberts is out about $2,000 including her deposit, rent, and repairs, she was able to work out a legitimate lease with the real owner and can stay.

I have been emailing this woman going by the name Mr James and wife Shpresa Deda.  They claim they have a house in Parma for sale and they want to rent it for $545 a month plus utilities included.  I drove by the house and it it clearly occupied with no for sale sign on the front like she claims.  She says they are in Cali right now and just had a showing last week.  Well, I did some research on Cuyahoga county public records and they are definately not on the tax bill.  Shame on them. And they want only $350 security deposit.  Glad I kept researching.M3N7

Yep, I ALMOST got taken for a ride on the same (818) number and decided to google it and found you guys. Everything was the same and they refused to let me do a quick walk through of the house. I wanted to be sure about what I was getting myself into. I am an exterminator and was doing a termite inspection for a house that I actually found on the same website and the pictures of the inside didn't look anything like they did on the website. And as soon as they said that I couldn't do a walkthrough, a red flag went up. I guess it really was too good to be true...

Just so everyone knows, they're still at it. They hijacked a RE listing of a house my wife and I are selling in Ankeny, Iowa (outside of Des Moines) and posted it for rent for a ridiculously low amount, including utilities. They used our agent's description of the house verbatim, plus professional photos that I had taken.  Someone who responded to it and then did her due diligence alerted me to it. The scammers are using my name and my wife's name in their emails to this person., and the (818) 284-6177 telephone number.

Stay away from any house that looks too good to be true, but particularly if they use that phone number. And do your research if you suspect anything. Check with the county assessor or recorder to find out who owns the house. If the names are different from who is advertising it for rent, find out why.

Good luck and be smart!

They are still doing it in Salt Lake City Utah. They are using the Name Christian Drecksel. They had us send the money to his Brother in North Hills California. The name of the Brother is John-Paul Murphy. Unfortunately my husband and I were desperate enough to fall for it. We are reporting it to the FBI. We have two children and are barely scrapping by. I hope that whatever information we can give the FBI will help them catch these people.

Same thing up here in Duluth. I have not sent him a check or money. But it is a three bedroom house for 800 dollars flat. All utilities included. Seems to good to be true, so I investigated further and contacted that rel-estate manager and said the house was foreclosed by a different previous owner and the bank just sold it to this owner. Which didn't match the name of Brad and Wife Tahani Zeidan. haha like honestly, who signs the bottom of emails as Brad and Wife Tahani Zeidan... Really weird. This scam artist must just get some people who don't pay attention to the little things in emails. He sent me a lease that was typed in the email, well being smarter than that I told him I want one I can print off, have all the rules and regulations of the lease and I will fill it out by hand and scan a photo of it and send to him so I have a copy that cannot be tampered with. He just told me after the first signed part I will send you the second part with the rules. Right... So now I emailing him and just messing with him because I know he is fake and just trying to get more information from him. He has been reported to the police and craigslist already.

This person tried to rent out a house in my neighborhood for $700 including utilities, which sounded fake, they sent me this phone number and I automatically googled it, I also spoke to a realtor to see what was up and the house they tried to rent had actually just been sold. Rediculois
