It's a good thing i have their phone number. I crank call these a***oles but i press *67 before dialing. give them a taste of their own medicine.

these people have called me 6 times in the last 2 days!  They are a scam!   I will not talk to them ..... and even if I did, I can barely understand a word that is said on the messages they leave....and after each call where they leave a message, I get another "blank" message on my phone that is total silence for the entire 5-6 minutes allowed.

I keep getting calls from Jacob Brown David Cooper Jamie Cooper etc, All are broken english,saying I owe money  800 dollars if I dont pay they will be to my address, they have it and arrest me. I called the police dept, sheriff dept  to see if there was a warrent out for me. NO!! A scam they said, do not answer phone calls from them.So now they change numbers and have started back calling. Im not in good health, this is so hard on me trying to avoid people I dont owe anything to. Its hard to let the phone ring and ring,leave me alone!!

I received this phone call today on my cell, but I didn't answer because awhile ago this person succeeded in scamming me.

I got many calls from the same phone number that they are SCAMMER.   Just ignore them and don't answer them back.   Already report FBI that they did called the police about that.  
Says that they tell me if i dont pay them then write a letter report to sherriff and get me in jail and go to courthouse, cant buy house, car, cancel driver license, cant get another job, etc.  
Be ALERT - different 3 phone numbers.   Just ignore and don't answer them back.  they will give us up

I too took out two payday loans in 2011. I paid both of them off in full and have the documentation proving it from the original lender. Then one day several months later as I'm leaving for work this indian accented man called my cell and claimed he was from the Criminal Investigation Unit in Georgia and that I was being investigated for fraud and kept using big fancy law terms that I had heard but didn't know the meaning to. He kept saying I had taken out a payday loan (named the company and time that I took out the first loan) and said it was never paid and it was a criminal offense and if I didn't pay them right then over the phone they would arrest me at my place of employment. I of coarse was confused but overcome with fear and didn't understand what had happened. However, when I told them I needed documentation they said they couldn't send that until they had been paid. I told them I needed to research the loan and my bank account to ensure I had paid off the loans like I had thought, and he was very demanding and kept saying you owe this money and if you don't handle it today you will suffer the consequences. At one point I hung up, and he called back 6 times!! I never had anyone threaten me in this manner. So, I did as he said but convinced him to do a payment with my checkcard the next day. I hung up that morning and went straight to the computer and did tons of research on the number, the company, the names he used, etc. I of coarse realized he was a scammer. So, I contacted the police department. They told me nothing could be done unless he had actually used my social security number (which he called out to me in full) so my information had been stolen. However, because nothing was ever on my credit report the local authorities were no help. I then went to my bank and had all of my account numbers, and check cards cancelled and changed. That of coarse pissed them off because they never got there money and they have continued to call me from different numbers and call my employer using alias names and company names. I have reported all numbers they call from to the FTC, the FBI and nothing has been done to stop them. I have each number saved as Scammer they call me from and I just dont answer. Eventually I figured they would get the hint that I'm not stupid enough to fall for there scam anymore but they continued to call. I wish you the best! I wish the FBI or someone would put these people in jail so they will leave me alone!!

thank you very much for your reply.I do admit last year I did take a few payday loans.Upon a unsuccessful attempt at reconciling with my ex she cleaned out my bank account and dumped me again.I fortunately put myself into recovery and have tried to pay off all debt collectors as they come further making my financial amends.I was really taken back by their tactics and threats.Thank you for your advice and taking the time to address my situation.I further called a debt collector I am working with at this time and asked them for advice regarding "MacKenzie Lawfirm" and he was shocked at the things they said.He further advised me on how and what to do in the future as well.I just dont want to have anything happen to me that would jepordize my daughter or I whom I ve fought so hard for .Thank you

First, if it were me, I would follow the advice given in several different posts above and NOT send these borderline extortionists any money.    

Second, if you do owe someone money these people calling you are offering you no documentation that they are authorized to collect it -- it sounds like they are just fishing and trying to scam you out of money using general information they got from someplace and the probability is even if you owe money and make a payment(s) to them those payments will never be credited to paying down the actual debt.  The fact that they don't know how much you owe is indicative of that.

Third, even if you do owe a debt then that is a civil matter, not a criminal matter, and the police only detain and/or arrest people on the belief a criminal act has been committed (or due to a court issued arrest warrant) -- certainly not merely because someone tells the police you owe money.   To put your mind at ease about this, most police and sheriff's departments have a non-emergency information number.  I think you can call the police/sheriff, briefly explain the situation, and ask them if there is any chance you will be arrested on the say-so of these scumbags.    It also sounds to me that these callers are very close to making what is called in most jurisdictions something like "terroristic threats" as they are threatening what should be known to them is unlawful imprisonment and there is the vague "suffer consequences" threat as well. Terroristic Threats are a criminal matter.      

So, if it were me, I would just tell them that I will no longer discuss the matter with them in anyway, and they are not to contact me again, and if they want to pursue it further, then to file the proper civil litigation suit in the proper court in your jurisdiction and you will see them in court (which will likely never happen).    

Incidentally, it's not that I don't think people should pay their debts, it just seems that you are being scammed at best in this situation.

I recieved several calls from them.First they said 8,000+ then put me on hold and returned saying now 750.I inquired some more and again was put on hold and this time they returned saying 331.00 within the hour or they would file charges.The guy at one point asked for info of other agencies im making payments to.I didnt give it to him.The one thing that really bothered me is when I explained I recently was divorced and a single father of a 11yr old daughter he said I had better have a good attorney and a bailbondsman ready or my imminent arrest would leave her without her father.No arrangements would or could be made and I could suffer consequences

to michaael kasten, DONT EVER BELIEVE THESE CALLS DONT EVER SEND ANY MONEY  DONT EVER USE YOUR BANK ACCOUNT number if you have close your account and get the bank to issue you a new account,somewhere down the line they have obtained your information from a lender or several lenders , if you have ever applied for a payday loan, they buy and sell your information and are reading  from a prompt card to intimidate you  tell them you have seen their number on all of  the internet complaint boards and you have filed a poilce report and to the FBI scam unit and make sure you do follow through these are scAMMERS!!! THEY WILL SAY ANYTHING ON THE PHONE TO GET YOUR ATTENTION DONT CALL THEM BACK AND IF YOU CAN BLOCK THEIR NUMBER FROM YOUR PHONE DO SO

They called me they have my SSN# and everything called from a law firm in penn state. I blew up at them I had a call from them months ago.

Ive been getting calls from this number and another number stating this guy works for mackenzie law firm and needs me to call asap i have a couple loans that are outstanding so i thought it might be that but im starting to think i got scammed i sent them 250 dollars 2 weeks ago via western union, this is after they said they dont take prepaid debit cards from walmart, what do i do? do i pay again or no? they isisted on getting my reciept from western union that holds my information, i dont know what to do
