Follow the steps in what you need to know. A legitimate debt collector agency should not have a problem with giving you a real business name and address you can google and verify via google street view, BBB etc.

windsor law is a scam they called and said my husband and we owe wells fargo and then told us that we had to pay... we asked to get a payment plan they told us we had to make large payments for 4 weeks we told them we were not able to do that and they told us they would take us to court... after a while we looked they number and name up we learned that they guy that 'owns' windsor law pc is really a lawyer but he has not had the company for long and found out that they real windsor law is based out of tn... then also come to find out tha debt was not even on my husband credit so they really cant do anything about it because it isnt on there... also when we told them that we were going to call the federal bureau on them they hung up on me...  

I received a phone call from this company for the first time on January 17th 2014. They say is was due to an acct through US Bank that I had supposedly had charged off in December 2008. I had never heard from anyone about this until that day.  I advised her I wanted something in writing.  Today I received another call and as I explained to her that I was waiting for something in the mail and wasn't paying until I seen something she began to speak over me then hung up.  I called back and asked for a supervisor, explained what happened, he said he would speak with her if he found any wrong doing.  He then began to say "oh so you said you weren't paying?" I explained I'm not paying until I see something in writing.  He told me that I couldn't keep asking for things in writing then not do anything about it when received. I started to say that's the problem I've never requested anything from anyone because I wasn't even aware of this and it's been over 5 years, as I was saying this he told me I was rude and hung up.  These people are rude and unprofessional. If they expect to receive anything from anyone they should know not to conduct business as so. Looking at other people's experiences it looks like this might be a scam which is what I thought initially anyway, especially since my personal information was taken due to the breach at Target. Do everything in writing, never through the phone!!!  

NOT HAPPY with these people. I have told them NUMEROUS amounts of times to QUIT CALLING MY HOUSE.
Well, they just called again and usually I just let it ring. Well today, I just laid my niece down for her nap, and they call and wake her back up. So they hit a nerve. I answered and said, "Please stop calling my house, You call three or four times a day, and I have had enough! Take me off your calling list." She said, "NO, we do not call three or four times a day, it is against the law to do that." I said, well YOU DO. Stop calling me, take me off of whatever list I am on and do not call my house again. She said OK Mrs. Bi*** I will make the lawyers aware of this," and hung up on me. Now, I am really pissed off, I got her right where I wanted to get her. I use to work in a call room, and BY LAW, they MUST take you off of their list if you say: TAKE ME OFF THE LIST NOW. HAHA :) Score: ME "  :)

Demand a legitimate, physical mailing address in which to dispute the debt (VIA certified mail, with return receipt requested). If they refuse, let them know you will be seeking legal counsel who will get it for you.

WINDSOR LAW - 816 410 0835 calls here for someone else.  I tell them I am not the person they are looking for and to stop calling here but they insist.  The is very disturbing.  I had t give up my answering machine because they left messages saying they are trying to collect a debt.  Anyone who hears this message thinks I defaulted on a debt.  Which I did not.  How do I get rid of them?   .  They would not tell me what it is about because it's for someone else.  Then they start grilling me to find the person they are looking for.  Well if they call me they better be ready to get blasted.  But that doesn't stop them The lady threatened me that what I say is being recorded so watch what I say.  Seems they can ruin my name but I can't tell them what I think of them.  

This number calls me 4-6 times a day. I try calling back to see who it is, but all that plays on the other end is cheesy elevator type music, no one answers, and they do not have a greeting stating what company they are. I think whoever this is, is trying to scam people.

1-866-929-5306 keeps calling but not leaving any message at all.

Called me on 11/08 at 5:49 PM and left another message.  This time the message started out with elevator music, then got the same automated message as the last time about looking for a Melissa, I think they said last name was Savage, but I couldn't quite understand what was said.

They're scamming you then. Just because they say they're a law firm doesn't mean they are. Thanks for posting I got a call too but no message left.

Called me on 11/04/2013 at a few minutes to 2 PM while I was sleeping and didn't leave a message.  Called back in the evening and I heard elevator music, no one answered.  I was called again on 11/05/2013 at 9:56 AM, I had just missed the call by 7 minutes, this time there was a voice message.  Sounds like they're looking for a Melissa Sarah or Terrance.  Here's the script of the voice message that was left:

Female voice: This is for Melissa Sarah (sounds like it could also be Terrance)

Male Voice: This call is being made by Windsor Law PC, a debt collection firm.  This is not a sales or solicitation call, this is an attempt to collect a debt.  Any information collected will be used for that purpose.  Please return this call to 877-531-6993 between 8 am & 7:30 pm.  If you do not know the intended recipient of this message, please call us at 877-531-6993 to have your number removed from this (inaudidble, sounds like rig or list)

I did some internet searching and the attorney that owns the collection agency Windsor Law, PC is David R. Smith and he can be contacted at 816 753-9393 if they keep calling.  I also found a bunch of internet posts about the company United Credit Recovery using fake affidavits to get people to pay money the did not owe.  That must be why they changed their name to Dalothian Capital.  It looks like World Recovery Service was in trouble also, they both have a rating of F with the BBB and World Recovery Service has like 80 complaints.  If they send you documents that you think are fake, you should definitely ask to see the original to make sure it is not a scam.  I found a bunch of posting about United Credit Recovery doing illegal things and changing their name.  BE CAREFUL!

This company called from 816-410-0835 saying it was for a debt that is owed to Dalothian Capital that is also called United Credit Recovery and American Debt Sales.  This company has called as Windsor Law, VHC law, World Recovery Service, Regent Asset Management Solutions and Imperial Recovery Partners.  I don't owe any debts and they know that so they just keep changing their name.

Said they were World Recovery Service and Windsor Law PC and United Credit Recovery.  Said they have offices in Florida and Kansas and they collect for all of the major banks.  I told them that I don't owe anybody and they should quit calling.  These people use to call from 877 365 0025 and I told them a long time ago that I did now anybody.

I didn't pick it up and they don't leave messages.  If you can't leave a message then you can go to hell

I got a call a couple months back, when I told them I could not pay they said that they where sending the police to my house to arrest me. Now they call back telling me they are sending me to court.. The threatening calls. The supervisor is the one that said he would send me to jail over this. Very unprofessional. DEBT COLLECTORS said they are a law firm but its for debit collections

The person I talked to told me they're a collection group .    They will not work with you if you want to make monthly payments and all payments have to be made over the phone.

This number meeps calling and doesn't answer when you pick up . They don 't leave a msg either. ! Jow can I block that number ?

One short tone, then kids digital music...15 seconds, still on hold, hung up !

They ask for you but when the phone is given to you they have already hung up.

I get calls ALL day from this number. no message and no one talks when you pick up
