I am suspicious of KINDNESS.  You must work for the scam artist or you may just be the scam artist who called as an investigator.  Do you know it is against the law to impersonate as a police officer?  That's the impression this person gave.  So I have second thoughts about KINDNESS.  Since when is someone kind when trying to extort money from someone, or harassing people with phone calls that don't even pertain to them.

L.MONTGOMERY WAS VERY NICE HELPED TO ME TAKE CARE OF THE DEBTS I HAD AND WAS VERY PATIENT WITH MY HUSBAND AND I DURING OUR FINANCIAL HARDSHIPS. PEOPLE JUST DON'T TAKE THE TIME OUT TO CARE FOR OTHERS SITUATIONS THESE DAYS BUT SHE DID, NICE TO SEE SHIVALRY IS NOT DEAD......

It is from the fraud and worthless check division.  We got a call too.  They were looking for a former friend who made a lot of loans through the check cashing service and never paid them back.  The message left detailed case number and the call back number.The former gave us as a reference at all these payroll advance places(without our permission).  I called them back and the lady was very pleasant - took our number off the file.

I suspect this number is a collection agency.  My caller ID identified the call coming from Missouri.  Around 9:00 AM, I received the first call, which they woke me up from my sleep.  They asked to speak to my ex-spouse.  I told them there was no one with that name at this number.  Then, 4 minutes later they woke me up again and asked for me.  I acknowledge who I was.  They told me they had my name associated with my ex-spouses name; at that point, I told them I was divorced from the man.  The person, who was a female, told me that she was doing an investigation, but never introduced herself or her company.  She asked if I spoke to my ex, and I told her no.  

When I finally got out of bed, I looked at the phone number in my caller ID and Googled it.  I could not find anything, so I blocked my number and dialed the number.  The same person that had called me earlier answered the phone; she introduced the company as the Montgomery Police Dept.  Strange that there number did not come up when I Googled it.  Don't all police departments have their number listed?  

Well, finally I got the nerve to get in contact with my ex-spouse about it. All I mentioned to him is that I got a strange call about him.  I wasn't able to go any further with my conversation as to what had happened. He immediately interrupted me from talking.  He admitted to me that he had gotten a call from Montgomery, MO, and that the woman introduced herself as an attorney office.  In fact, she even told him that she had called me.  He was upset that she had called me, and he told her that she should not have gotten me involved.  

What this person is doing is illegal; introducing their company as a police department.  No wonder why the phone number wasn't listed.  Does anyone know where I should go to report this person?  If anyone finds out the real name to this company, please post it to this phone number on this website.  If I find out the name, I will post it here as well.

Here some more information for you.  I Googled the exchange number 813-625, this is a Verizon cell phone, which is from the Tampa, FL area.    When does an attorney office make phone calls using cell phones?  Beware if you get a call from this person.  I hope this will help all those who Google this number.  

To the person that is making these harassment calls, shame on you!!!  I wonder if the B (use your imagination) is going to run out and change her cell phone number now.  I wonder how many times, she has already done this.
