817) 238-1496 - calls sound like a fax machine

keep getting calls to phone. calls are erroneously sent to our phone. the phone call is an automated fax machine. we need these calls to be discontinued, they are very disruptive to our business.

I've been getting calls regularly from numbers located in Texas.  Both Fort Worth and Denton.  When I answer the call, there is no one on the other end.  When I call back, I get a sound like a fax machine.  I'm assuming this is an automated call, and I have tried calling the number back and then get the fax sound.  There are different numbers, but when I look them up they're all in Texas, and the results are the same.  Only a fax sound.  I did find out that these numbers are Verizon numbers, called them to find out and they said they were non-working numbers and couldn't trace them.  Said I should file a complaint with the police departent.  Has anyone ever done that?  This has been going on for months now, and already just in this month ....
