These guys are dependable... making sure to interrupt my dinnertime several times a week! These axxwipes do not understand English phrases like DO NOT CALL ME ANYMORE and TAKE ME OFF YOUR FRICKING CALLING LIST! They are a profit center, and very little money that they con (raise) from people goes anywhere except their own pockets. The little that they do not keep for themselves seems to go into the pockets of lobbyists in Austin. Do not even think about contributing to these nefarious worms.

I get this call too! I had no idea who TSTA was until I read this blog. They didn't leave a message. I didn't call them back.

I get calls from TSTA (Texas State Troopers Association) from this 817 zone number all the time.  I've got several friends who are veteran troopers and they tell me on the side that the TSTA telemarketer operation is a scam from the get go.  Avoid even talking to these callers.  Don't answer or answer and then hang up.  Blocking the call is better......if you can.

Program your home phone to ring to your cell phone.  Program your cell to then recognize the number and set the ringer to "silent".  It works like a charm.

The telezapper do not work.  I bought one and I still received the calls.  The zapper donot zap the rats..  I have my ringer on low and I check my caller ID before answering. I have a special ring tone for my family and friends so most of the time I don't even bother at all.

charities are NOT covered by the do not call list! i can't belive this, if i wanted to donate to a charity then i can call them myself. something needs to change with the do not call registry. i've often thought of buying one of those telezappers, i don't know if they really work but it would definatly be worth a try!

i found out that even if your number is on the do not call list that "charities" can still call you! so i guess we can't be left alone either way! my sister has a whistle by her phone and anytime a telemarketer or unknown name and number call she picks up and blows the whistle in the phone! i think this is hilarious and it seems to have lessened her unknown calls!

These clowns call and if you do not grab the phone after the first or second ring, they hang up on you and call back daily on a fairly consistent basis!  THEY NEVER LEAVE A MESSAGE!  If you do answer the call you get all their BULL and when you ask to be removed from their call list and not be called again, they either ask "why?" or ask you "..do you realize that if your name is removed then you can not support their cause?"  

They are SUPER arrogant and rude.  When asked not to call again, they will wait a couple months then start again!!!!  AND, they have NO connection to the teacher group of TSTA!

I came home from Houston today and had this phone number on my caller ID, but no message.  Caller ID said TSTA.  Thanks for all the posts telling me it's most likely bogus!

They just called me and caller ID TSTA. I recieved the coveted ticket for 86mph but I was only driving 65mph which was posted speed limit, I don't give either. Give me a break TSTA!

My husband explained that we would not be interested in giving a donation. The man then called back and I answered and he wanted to know why my husband was disinterested and he started yelling at me because I would not donate money. The man scared me by his abusive remarks.Please do not answer if you see TSTA.

I also have had several people asking for donation.

There was one lady kept calling me even after 10:00 at night with blocked phone number.


I told her I couldn't help her especially I don't know if she was for real.

But she kept demanding and got angry with me and saying "You can't help sick kids?"

So I hung up on her.

she kept making prank calls midnight for weeks UNTIL I got really mad and told her that she will be tracked down with special service.

Why would they call someone on "DO NOT CALL" list and asking for money?

I think TSTA stands for TX State Troopers Asso; the nerve of those b*****ds calling asking for money for them to CONTINUE TO ABUSE THE CITIZEN BY GIVING THEM SPEEDING TICKETS AND FOR TASERING US!

I get calls daily from this number and I finally quit answering them.  I have been on the Texas no call list for over a year and yet it doesn't stop them.

that 3.59 mill.online should be 3.59 mill via telephone,also from what i gather,they target the elderly,so you should keep a close eye on you parent etc.finances.some others that run this type of operation is the fire cheifs fund,another one called the other day,it didnt get the name ,but the led me to beleive it was like make a wish,childern with cancer,thats stooping pretty low,

tsta uses a  telemarketer to solicet funds a few facts based on tsta filings per irs, 3.59 mil raised via online,75% or 2.8 mill spent on profession fund raising fees,$10,200 SPENT ON TROOPERS DEATH,$22,000 ON TROOPERS EVENTS,$72,000 on contract lobbiest,thats where you money goes.

got a call on caller i.d. 817.277.0804- must have missed it yesterday...  the name on caller i.d. says "TSTA", wonder what that is?

Just recently I had the AT&T privacy manager turned off since it didn't really work.  Like the others, I've looked up these numbers.  I came up with one thing this evening.  I have two phone lines, one for my computer.
I switched over to my computer line and made it my main line.  If they call now they will get my computer noise, if any thing.  I turned off the ringers to the phones on that other line.  I have a caller ID on that line so if I want to answer that phone I can. Tomorrow I will use my once computer phone and call into the Do Not Federal phone center.  We will see how things turn out.  Oh, I still have call blocking, but "many of the phone numbers can't be blocked at this time."  Since the caller doesn't show a number or a name, I just call, call blocker and block the last caller.  Good luck everyone.  As they say "been there, done that."
