can't believe they are calling me and i'm 2 days late, actually, i mailed it in what i thought was ample time like i usually do and they are calling me because they don't receive it. i don't make payments on line or over the phone because "western union" charges an addition $10 to make the payment. geez.... i planned to pay the car off early...well, i guess it will be earlier than i thought because i can't stand collection calls.

I started getting calls on the second day after payment was due. Some of us get caught between paydays duh!

I agree. Calls begin after date even if you are within your grace period. What is the point of a grace period if they still treat you as late??

I have had a loan with them on my car for 14 months and paid on time every month . My payment was due yesterday, and the harrassment has already begun. I can't help I live in the Midwest and the payment has to go to Arizona, I don't deliver the mail, I just mail it.....Not to mention, My agreement gives me a 5 day grace period. Unfortunately I had a bankruptcy 4 years ago and had to go through these loan sharks because of it. Never again...

we are not even late - and never was late but they keep harassing claiming we are -- total scam company and if they try to take back a car with payments not even late then that is car jacking and i will take care of them as a crime in progress since that is what it actually is

Because I *Wasn't* extremely pastdue.....not *was* extremely pastdue.
Linds 2011-12-21 17:17:14 Unknown
That is exactly what happened to me!! I called them BEFORE my payment was even due to tell them I was going to be late and that I would like to set up a deferment. The woman told me she would put a hold on my account and that I was to call them back when I started my new job to go through the deferment process. When I called them back I was told I was given "bad information" and I couldn't go through the deferment process, b/c I was extremely pastdue and in fear of losing my car. So, now my payment is pastdue and the only thing they can do for me is "set up payment options." I'm sure this states true for most people, but when I'm behind on a bill payment it screws me up for a couple of months. I don't have a ton of extra money laying around, hence the request for a deferment. They won't you until you're about ready to lose your car. Doesn't make a lot of sense. Now the a-holes will get my payment whenever I decide to send it to them.

I agree.. Even a day after it's past due, they call 100 times.. Do they think that calling that much is going to make money mysteriously appear in my pockets?? REALLY!! I don't know of anyone that doesn't pay their bills because they just don't feel like it.. People are broke man.. It's no suprise.. Give some people a break already.

I have my car loan through AmeriCredit. I was going to be short for July so I called them 2 weeks before the payment was due. We "set something up" for graduated payments but as soon as the original due date past they called and told me I was past due and the previous representative I spoke with gave me bad information and that I couldn't do it that way. ???????????

I don't have any business with AmeriCredit, but I've been getting automated messages from them for the past few days.
BS pleez 2010-04-23 00:21:02 Unknown
This company kept calling and calling..leaves no messages in voice mail. I answered it and they said they were confirming references for auto loan for a family member of mine. I knew this family member owned their truck and asked them why would they be confirming such a matter he wasn't in the market for a vehicle. I began asking what company was this...again.. and began trying to confirm information .. I said hold on let my call my relation... and let me make sure this is legit...and they basically hung up in my face. SCAM!

Americredit is nothing but a bunch of a** holes. They love harrasing people.
All credit companies are alike. Unless you threaten to take them to court they are as bad as a deadly sickness. THere nothing but a bunch of blood suckers. Be cause of the economy sometimes you can't always pay on time. We we get a new President and new control over congress, it all might change. You are going to see a bunch of these credit compnaies like Americredit grasping at straws and going ut of business because of illegal credit practices.
me 2009-08-10 18:23:00 Unknown
they can technically only call you 3 times a day - i called and spoke wih managment and let them know that if they do not stop harrassing me (yes i know im late on my paymnet) i will take this to an atorney, and end up etting more than what i owe, not i only get an email reminder once a day :)
j 2009-02-24 21:26:50 Unknown
I have americredit calling 5 days after account past due, and in my contract i have a 10 day grace peroid.
anonymous 2009-02-06 21:38:25 Unknown
yes, americredit. they will start calling as soon as your payment is 30 days past due and will not stop until you are caught up, even if you make other arrangements. So make your payment, and they won't call.
a 2008-12-31 18:28:24 Unknown
It is Americredit... they call about 200 times a day and leave the same recorded message 2/3 of the time.
