I have received about 4 text messages a day from these scammers. How do we stop this and how do I get my cell number and my wife's off this list. Did T-Mobile sell our contact information?
| Michael Paddock 2010-06-02 20:04:08 Unknown |
I just spoke with the bank and with T-Mobile. The bank told me that they were aware of the issue and they are working on fixing it. The number comes from Hungary, not from the bank. T-Mobile said the issue is affecting several phone companies and they too are working on blocking the text.

Change your email filters with your service provider. The number is being sent as a text, but from an email...817-752-0506@anbtx.com.

This company is definitely fradulent. I tried replying with the word STOP as you are able to do with many other unsolicited text messages, but this does not work because the text is being sent from an email. You can go online to your service provider's website and update your email filters. So far it has worked for me. HTH!

The text is from American National Bank of Texas notification regarding a $25.00 bonus. It asks you to 'Press #' Yet when you do it then asks for your Social Security Number. IT IS A PHISHING SCAM! DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS NUMBER! Another related number is (806) 686-4741

Receved the following message on my phone via text message:
You have received a new American National Bank of Texas notification. Call now free: 817-752-0506 to hear it and claim your 25$ fidelity bonus.
First - the number is unlisted.
Second - American National Bank of Texas does not have a number such as this.
Third - The way the money amount is listed. Notice the position of the dollar sign?
Fourth - The use of the word "fidelity" instead of using an American word for money.
Don't call this number they are only trying to get your personal information.
