The FTC should still be taking and investigating complaints about debt collectors but they may also be directing you to the new Federal Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.  The link for debt collection complaints is here:

How did you report this to the FTC? It keeps redirecting me to another agency who supposedly handles credit/debt collectors.

I keep getting calls from this number and no one will answer on the other side. Everytime I am busy at work and it isn't funny. Does anyone know why they do this?

Same thing happened to me. It's EOSCCA Financial. Her name is Beverly that calls and is RUDE!

I just got a call from a rude woman at this number... called for a person of my husband's first name (no last name). When I said my number wasn't his and if I could take a message she said it was for "business" and hung up. When I attempted to call back I got a recording saying they were _____ Financial (I couldn't hear the first part because the girl on the recording was speaking very quickly) and they were a debt collection agency.

I have stopped answering the phone.  If everyone stopped answering unknow numbers then these unwanted calls would go away.  So many telemarketing calls.

I got a call from this number today... and it had an automated recording that said something like... "Please hold for a very important announcement... " and then there was elevator music after that.  I just hung up.

They call and don't say a thing. Punks!

They call the house and now they have my cell phone numbers.  Today is the first day they actually left a message.  It was a female and you really couldn't tell what she said her name was or who she was calling for.

If this is a debt collections agency (as someone stated above) and you actually know who they are calling about, my suggestion is to actually contact the original debtor.  They will work with you to get the debt down or accept a lower amount.  As they are well aware that the economy is bad and that we, as consumers can file for bankruptcy and get out of paying any of the debt.  Debt collection agencies always want the full amount as they receive a percentage of the amount recovered.  Don't ever work with a collection agency.

These people are contacting my family members telling them that I violated the law and they are preparing to take legal action.  The thing that really sucks is that I'm not the person they are looking for.  I was hung up on twice today before I could get someone to do something about the issue.

They called me today, ask for me by name, I said may I ask who is calling, he said, my name, is this you, Very creepy!!!  Who is it???

They actually called for my wife,when i told the guy she was not hm and could i take a message, he demanded i give him another number. when i told him i didn't know who he was and didn't feel comfortable doing so, he told me to "relax, sit down and give him a number" i was appalled at his non-professional tactic. when i demanded to know who he was, he gave me the name mr. gotsky or grotsky. when i asked him for a number to give to my wife he refused and hung up.

Keeps calling and never leaves a message... tried calling back and is always busy... very annoying.

I have had a call from this number about 20 times. They always hang up when i answer. One time yesterday on the 17th of june some lady asked for me by my name. I was in my car and couldnt hear very well i said hold on let me roll my window up and she hung up. Very creep!

Guy calls my work phone and asks for my wife, I told him she was not here and he wanted to know how to get in touch with her. i offerd to take his number and he got arrogant and told me that he had tried that before (not to my knowledge) and said he would just have to render a decision without her and hung up.

Person keeps calling my cell phone with this number and 817-918-4844. I am figuring its the same people. They never leave a voice mail, and every time I call these 2 numbers it will ring for a long time and then become to a bsuy line.

ITS A LADY I SAID HELLO AND SO DID SHE BUT THATS ALL SHE SAID SO I HUNG UP SHE CALLS 2 TO 3 TIMES A DAY  WHEN I CALL BACK PHONE IS ALWAYS BUSY!!

Someone from this number calls and when I answer, I say "hello" twice, they say nothing but I can tell there is someone there, then they just hang up...i've got too much to do to deal with this...i called the number back and it was busy...nudebbq says the name is Nick Lowery...do you know anything about him, is he a bill collector, sales guy, etc?
