They called me.

Hi - My name is Aimee and I am the Customer Service and Marketing Manager for ZapTel.  I can assure you that we do not sell our customer information.  I have a customer who has brought a situation to our attention and have investigated it with the carrier for one of our customers.  We have not been able to find any connection between our company or carriers  whose products we sell and the one placing these calls.  If you are a ZapTel customer and would like to report an issue, please contact our Customer Service department and they will forward the issue on to me.

I got one too - does any use Zaptel.com? Did anyone's message mention 'Talk for Less'? I suspect Zaptel.com has been selling phone numbers?

just to add my two cents - they've called multiple times on my cell, in hebrew, and it is listed on donotcall and I have never called israel - literally ever.  i filed an official complaint with the FCC but they sent me a letter in the mail that they would do nothing about it.  i will try the number 9 next time and see what happens

Just received a call and it said "please enter your pin". Interesting... called back and it said "an error has occured". Thanks for explanation above. We have called israel in the past 90 days :-)

So far only once. And at 2pm..
So no major complaints.
I guess if it repeats, then it may get annoying.
I understood the Hebrew and realized it must be that I have connections to Israel. I didn't think they're making calls to all Canadians randomly.
So, ya it's annoying, but it's not the first or last time you'll be getting random sales calls. The only reason I'd be really ticked is like the person above said, they received the calls 4 am and 5 am. That's a bit much. Agreed.

have gotten a call from this number several times. Tried to report it, but apparently my # is not on the do not call list any more?so I had to re-register. I recognize it as Hebrew, but can't understand it. Reports above that it is from a phone company sound just right, though.

Just got this call.  I usually hang up right away but was curious to speak with somebody this time.  I'm Israely and yes, this is Hebrew.  The name of the company whose services the recording is offeing keeps changing.  Today it was by Talk For Less, last time it was something else.   Very annoying.   If only phone companies used a technology like we have to manage spam emails.  I wish I could just hear a prompt "press 7 to never get calls from this number again".  Wishful thinking...

Called my cell phone on Nov 24 2008 At 7:24 PM. Very annoying as I do not understand Hebrew. My husband receives these calls on his cell phone as well.

i received it in total 4 times in Toronto same as the gentlemen above me. once was last year. second time was two days ago. third and forth times were last night around 4 or 5 a.m. - these losers woke me up for no reason. i decided to comment on this because i am really pissed off that somebody is not only wasting my air time, but also deprives me of my sleep time. I am pretty sure the language was jewish because it sounds like it and they kept saying israel blah blah israel.

I received a call yesterday at 5:00 p.m. and then another call at 5:00 a.m. this morning, the language they used before their "recording" was very offensive and I did not appreciate a call using foul language especially at that hour in the morning, anywhere I can report it?

On 2w4th November 2008 received a call from 818 230 0077 at 4:30 am!

...googled "belowcall" and got to belowcall.com then I ran a dns411 on them here is the info I got...anyone feel like giving them a taste of their own medicine? Give them random unsolicited calls at random times.
Oh ya I should mention there is no useful info on the site it's largely under construction

Been getting calls from this number - I speak enough Hebrew to recognize the language they are speaking but never could quite get what they were saying before (also wasn't prepared to be listening to Hebrew and have my "translation software" "turned on" in my brain lol)
Thanks for the tip Yoav - next time I will wait until the end of the message and push 9 and tell them to stop freaking calling me as I am uninterested.
Though I should mention I have never called Israel from my phone only been called from Israel to my phone

The message in in Hebrew and it is a sales pitch for Long Distance phone service to Israel, called "BeLowCall".  After the sales pitch is over, the prompts in Hebrew to "press 9 and one of our representatives will call you in the next few minutes".  (I pressed - they did call me back)

This is a practice that I have seen before;  The national Israeli phone company (Bezeq) monitors incoming calls TO Israel FROM other countries and then sell the numbers to Israeli telemarketers that focus on international services such as travel and long distance to Israelis abroad (a very large community, nearly 20% of Israelis live abroad at any given time).

Chances are, if you are receiving such call - your phone must have dialed Israel within the past 90 days.

They call from Israeli call centers using American, Israeli and European phone numbers/caller id - with no regards to the laws of the US as the National Do Not Call List does not apply and cannot be enforced on calls made abroad.

I just got it too!  I didn't even have to call back to hear the "an error has occurred" message - I said hello and then got the recording about an error.  Any ideas what this is?

yep I have been getting calls too. It leaves me a message in a different language. some times they block their number. Make sure you register your number on   https://www.donotcall.gov/ . It is free and you have to register every 8 months or so. It is a do not call registry by the government.

8182300077 every weekend it leaves message for me in foreign language.  I phone # and it says "error occurred," I can never get through.

Yes; in Spanish ... this is the US and our official language is English yet.
