is this for sure?  I'm not sure what he's up to but he sounds like a thug and we should talk to his mom about raising him the right way, and NOT scamming folks.

Mike Thorton Has left a series of messages about a "serious legal matter and about a reported letter from my internet service provider?" and that I must return his call.  If you search the name and number you can see this is a thug trying to coherce people into paying him to settle the threat of a lawsuit.  He is a fraud.  Do not talk to this guy.

Got the same message. Names Mike Thornton, google him and his phone number. Lots of stuff comes up. He seems to be calling scamming ppl and telling them to send him money or he will sue you for downloading.

He is under investigation from the FBI Cyber Crimes Division, the AZ Attorney General's office and Infraguard is cooperating.  He and Ryan Stevens will be having some very difficult questions to answer.   Soon as their settlement account in FL is likely to be seized very soon and likely that they will be getting a federally sponsored 'holiday'.

This number is involved in an extortion scam.  Claims that you have committed illegal downloading, usually porn, and threatens to disclose this and take you to court, etc.  The proof they they claim to have based upon evidenced provided online in similar cases does not have sufficient evidence to prove anything other than an IP address which changes very frequently based upon the needs of the server provider.  Do not have any contact with this number or any similiar types of scammers.
