We made a number of political contributions via email during the campaign. We made a point of never giving out a home phone number. We're on the no call list and tell anyone who should call that our home phone is for family only and we do not give it out for any other reason. Two months before the end of the campaign. It seemed to start with a rude persistent male voice that wanted to challenge me when I told them to take this number off your call list. After hanging up on him, we got an immediate return call from the same number without anyone answering. That started a chain of calls, 4-5 a day, ever since. No one answers from the 818-719-0215. I can't seem to find out who this company represents. I can't get a hold of anyone at the Campaign Center of California.

Called several times and they didn't leave a message. I finally answered and they were representing Planned Parenthood, to whom I've contributed in the past. Asked them to DNC.

I keep getting the call several times per day. One time claiming to be a member of the Republican National Committee and days later claiming to be from the Obama election comittee. Either a psychotic or suffers from OCD. Will not leave a message if you do not pick up.

Also getting calls from this number. I registered a complaint with the Do Not Call registry. I know political campaigns, charities, and surveryors can call, but since this is a telemarketer, I complianed. The URL is https://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx

I am constantly getting calls from these people even though I have asked them not to call me again. They are persistent (3 calls in 1 day in some cases) and obnoxious. I don't care what party or candidate they represent--I have no desire to share information with them.

I was getting calls from this number - the initial call left an automated message saying I had contributed to a charity (unnamed) and asking me to call back and leave my name. There were two calls a day for a few days. Then I decided to call that number not intending to leave a message or talk with anyone - an automated answer said the caller company was "Harris Direct" and would I please leave my name and number..... I hung up. Setting my phone to reject the call had no effect - so I called my carrier and asked them to block calls from that number. Apparently they have blocked it, (Hmmm, since my minutes accrue by the length of phone calls and messages to/from people I know or nuisance calls, these nuisance calls could add to usage costs on my phone. Thus, since I am cynical, I wondered if it were a diabolical way to increase revenues by some phone companies. If so, there is little incentive to STOP such nuisance calls when carriers can increase their revenues.....)

I get a call once a day from this number. When I ask who it is they hang up on me.
My question is... how do you block the pests?

We received 4 calls from this number in a 6 hour period Thursday, and 2 per day for several days before that, even though we are on the "Do Not Call" list. We did not answer ANY of the calls. Our caller ID said Campaign Center.

I?ve never answered the 818 719-0215, still it?s very annoying to get several calls after I return home from work, weekends and twice on Sundays. Is there a NO Call List I can put this number on, where they won?t call me anymore? Still pondering how they got my number in the first place because its unpublished.
Guildgirl 2012-04-16 22:40:19 Unknown
Whoever it is calls me twice a day. I never answer it, but it gets annoying after a fourteen calls a week.
m 2012-04-13 20:40:32 Unknown
I answered and they said they were calling on behalf of Doctors Without Borders, which I have donated to in the past.
Never give any further financial support to an agency over the phone. Do it directly from a trusted website or call into the number or a website or local office.
This could be a third party call center that other organizations contract with to get donations. I don't think they violated the no call list with me as I have donated in the past. Still, be careful.

Actually, they won't sanction them. Nonprofits and political organizations are exempt from Do Not Call.
leslie 2012-03-27 22:08:32 Unknown
annoying as all get out, they call me every day. Isn't there an app for blocking calls on my iphone?

Hello All: I hope EVERYONE reads this! "The Campaign Center" that used that number to call you is out of business in Bloomington, IN! This call center was located in a brick, store front mall, in a poorer section of town. It had alcoholics, drug addicts, people on house arrest, losers and then just regular housewives, making calls for bogus "501c3" "charities" which were supposedly located "nationwide", but most were made up and came out of an "office" in Santa Ana California, which I believe was just a mobile home! The bogus organizations, were ones called things like Disabled Firefighters Association, Sheriff's Coalition, Children's Charity Fund, and they supposedly got 15% of what came in. All that and the rest went to the storefront office in California, and Jonathan Wright, who owned this "Campaign Center", and the rest to employees. The telemarketers themselves started at $8 an hour, and could advance to $12, but when they reached that level, the owner fired them, and got new ones. They were always told to hang up if there was an answering machine, by the way, and NOT leave a message, so that's what they did.Register at one time did an investigation of the bogus charity scheme, you can read about it at: http://www2.ocregister.com/multimedia/gold/ ...So The Campaign Center did not do any political calls at all! Now they are gone from their storefront mall office, but I think there may be a group of this owner and a few individuals making calls from his house, because they closed down in 2011 here, but I see some calls are still coming in from this fake California number that they had while in Indiana. Maybe they are not calling it "Harris Direct", I don't know. I just hope someday they, and all their kind of fake enterprises will be wiped off the map, but in the meantime, CHOOSE your charity yourself (like Red Cross or St. Judes) and NEVER give to ANYONE over the phone!!!! Just for your information about a ratty company, and some desperate people trying to make a buck...

Please don't call me ever again
A.D. 2012-02-17 21:39:30 Unknown
For weeks, they call 1 - 3 times per day, sometimes pretty late in the evening. I usually don't answer if I don't know whom it is. They never leave a voice-mail. I've tried answering it twice and nobody responds. This is harassment.

Calls during day, early morning and late at night disturb me from this number.

They do not have a relationship with me in any way or form. They are calling a call center where I work. When I answer the phone, they hang up.

Caller saying it was the Obama campaign
unfortunately donated $100
rwgate 2011-10-19 20:00:01 Unknown
Since this is a campaign, they are allowed to call people on the no call list. Certain categories of callers are exempt from the list.
Considering that we are entering into a major campaign season, you can probably expect to get more of these calls, especially if you've contributed in the past. If you're really bothered by it, simply tell them you're not interested, or add their name to your phone directory and put a "no ring" ringtone associated with the number.

Receive 5-10 call per day from this number. Don't ever answer but also loads up my answering machine with blank messages.
Terry 2011-10-13 20:33:11 Unknown
According to a Facebook user it is Obama begging for money.
Deb 2011-09-23 19:16:37 Unknown
Asked for me by name using a spelling I don't use on anything, so I doubt they are legitimately calling me. They didn't immediately offer who they were calling on behalf of, so I asked to be removed from their call list. Call back goes to Harris Direct who say they call for non-profit causes. Asked to be removed there, too. Meantime blocking with a cool little software program that will answer with a "I don't take telemarketing calls" message (better than paying the phone co for the service!)
