I answered the phone and immediatley heard a phone call regarding my car. I am a minor! I don't even own a car. My friend got the same call and we are pretty worried. How is this person getting our number? And how come authorities don't know why this person is not found. Why aren't they doing anything? What will they do next to get my information?

This number has called me atleast five times at all hours of the night and during school. It says something about house foreclosure or car insurance. I am a minor! How did these people get my number and why won't they stop calling? It's starting to scare me. Especially because the calls are from across the country!

Cell phone numbers were not released to the telemarketers.  A directory of cell phone numbers was created for the cell phone companies themselves.  People fear that the numbers will be obtained by the telemarketers.  However, the telecommunications act of 1984 makes it illegal to telemarket any device in which the receiver of the call realizes a cost from that call.  This means that tele-faxes and telemarketing calls to cell phones are illegal as the recipient has to pay for toner and paper on the fax machine and the minutes on the cell phone.  Regardless, the scum who are making the calls complained about here do not get their numbers from any list.  They have equipment that generates the numbers at random and then save any number that makes a connection.  Pressing two to remove yourself from their list will not work.  By pressing two you are only letting the computer know that your number is a valid, working number.  The Do-Not-Call list doesn't phase these idiots as they do not care.  The FCC and the FBI and the rest do not care.  They have more important crimes to investigate.  Because idiots fall for these scams they will continue.  The best course of action is to educate people on the scams.  Once they no longer produce income for the scammers, they will stop.

Meanwhile, do what I like to do.  Keep an air horn next to your phone.  When one of these idiots calls, press 1 for a live operator, and when they answer, give them a blast of the air horn.  Listening to them curse afterward is quite a hoot!

called my cell phone at work. I did not recognize the number, so I did not answer. I am sick of getting these calls.

I have received their calls on my home # which I don't answer, but now they are calling my work cell #!!!  Two calls : one Sat and one Mon (today).

Missed this call. I called back computer told me to press 1.  If I want my # blocked for additional promotions.  Which I did,  and I registed with the do not call list with the FTC.  federal trade commission.

I got a call earlier today from the number 818-870-9288. I didn't answer the phone since I don't have that number in my phone list and I don't know any people that lives in Canogar Park, CA. (That's what it said on another search website when I was searching for ths number.) This is the second number I've gotten in less than a month that is surely a scam and I'm furious at how come people are scaming around and how they get our phone numbers! I'm going to call my phone company about this.

Recorded message said it was a collect call with a charge if I accepted the call by pressing 1. Other options were to send the call to voicemail or to send the call to voicemail and listen to it at the same time.

Sounded sketchy, so I didn't press anything and the call disconnected within a few seconds.

They called my cell phone at 4PM EST yesterday. I didn't answer.

we need to call, email, write our congressmen two times a day for three days EVERYTIME WE GET A SCAM CALL.  You seldom reach a person when you call back.  I spoke to one of the persons wone time and complained and he laughed.  I found out that when I called the number back, I could not reach anyone.  The FCC has authority over these communications and they surely have the state-of-the-art equipment to stop these "chains" that do this

I just got hit, and found this page.  I was at work and am upset that someone would waste my precious work time. :(  I do enough of that on my own. LOL :)

Received call form this number on my work cell phone today. Heard nothing but dead air when I answered and then was disconnected.

I find it weird that I got this call literally seconds after I got a call from another moron in another state.

First 270-686-0076 called me and then as soon as sent it to VM this number 818-870-9288 called me.

I, literally, just got a call from this number.  My phone isn't even under my name, I share it with my brother who's name it is under.  I don't know if it was for a car insurance thing, or threat of foreclosure, considering, I don't have a car, and I rent my home.  If I don't know the #, I don't answer.  Getting kinda sick of it!

just reieced a call today, from this number didn't answer looked it up on line and found out it is a scam, registered my cell phone with the "do not call". The calls are annoying.
