Called ... left no message.

Received a call from this number on Saturday, May 3 at 6:00 p.m.  No response when I answered; a few seconds later I heard the dial tone.  I immediately called this number to see what the scam/solicitation attempt was and to be removed from their hit list.  Instead I got a recorded announcement saying this call could not be completed as dialed.  I had used the redial feature, so obviously it was an out of country call.   Will report it to the Canadian Government 'do not call list' registry.  

I didn't answer and would like  to block it from  calling again

some lady with a accent called and said she was with ABC Security

this number called my house again after being completely offensive on another occasion. The male was verbally abusive when I asked for a number I could call him back at.

Today, he asked for my husband at the start of the call and I said he was dead...they hung up.

"Jack", "Grace" etcetera, are back at it again. Just got a call from this number.

These types of calls are being sponsored by Canada Bell. They must be giving out our numbers to scammers when we leave their poor service.

Call blocker might be your best bet. I don't think the Indian scammers go on this site.

Was called last night  said it was Jonathan from ADT before he could get anything else out I told him I was not interested.   He continued.  I told him I was on the do not call list and that he was breaking the law.  He said quote "your laws mean nothing to me." I asked for his supervisor repeatedly and he refused.   I told him his call was an intrusion of my privacy and I wanted to speak to his supervisor.  His response was "intrusion - what is this word, I do not know the meaning."  I told him to let me speak to his supervisor and I would ask him to buy him a dictionary so he could look it up.  He refused again.  I told him I would not hang up until his supervisor came on the phone.  I said it was a shame his productivity would be so low because we wasted all this time waiting for him to get the supervisor.  He responded with "hello, I can't here you."  I stayed on the line for 10 more minutes, each time he said "are you there" I replied with "I am still waiting for your supervisor."  Finally he said "are you there did you hang up? and with that he disconnected the call.    I reported it to the CRTC.  Let them fine the jerks.

I answered it.  Said it was ADT security offering a "free" security installation.   I had several calls since January from them.  i told him I was on the do not call list.  He told me "my laws mean nothing" to him.   I asked for a supervisor and he refused.   I reported it to the CRTC.

Just got a call from this number from a man with an east indian accent he could not even say the company's name and I could hear the call centre noise in the background.  I was told I had been selected for a free ADT security system when I told him I had a security system he asked me what I had and who's system it was, I told him that was none of his business and he continued talking, I over talked him and didn't hear what he was saying and hung up - My thoughts are .... "If ADT has hired a cheap out of the country company to hastle us by phone then we should spread the word that CANADIANS SHOULD NOT SUPPORT ADT SECURITY SYSTEMS BY NOT BUYING THEIR PRODUCT then maybe they will not hire people from other countries to represent them" !!!!!!  

Got a call from 1-7406-821-722-2140. I said hello and asked who was speaking. A man with an accent did not reply but asked if I was the owner of the number he was calling. Since my wife owns the number I said no and was immediately told by this man that I was a liar. Needless to say I hung up. They called back immediately three or fouir times however I just kept hanging up.

Just got a call from this number, my boyfriend took the call, the caller asked for me by name and when he was told that I was not here he said he was going to call the police and sue me because this was the number I gave him to contact me. lol

A few methods I use are, simply refer to my call display if I don't, recognize the number I just don't, answer it. They can call all they like. Or pick the phone up and immediately put them on hold if you have that feature or set the phone down and leave the room, I guarantee they will not be on the line 2 minutes after you leave. I have a friend that purposely gets into a lengthy conversation with the caller only to shut them down at the end with, I,m not at all interested,  goodbye.

Got a call from "Cindy" claiming to be from ATD Security.  She misidentified me as a girl.  Couldn't even get the security company name right and then fought with me when I informed her that the number was on the DNCL.  She claimed that it wasn't a telemarketing call, and then proceeded to say that my number was selected by ADT Security to get a security system for my house.  Sounds like a telemarketing call to me.

Smells even more like a scam since I'm sure the real ADT Security would call you using a toll free (1-800, 888, 877, or 866) number, not an 821 number.  The stupid area code doesn't even exist.

When I said that I was not interested I heard a woman's voice.  The man then said. "did you hear her" and then, "you want to f*** her".  Yikes!  don't think it was ADT

This number has called numerous times but has no one on the other end. Slightly irritating to say the least.

Called 3 times. Was very rude. East Indian accent. Asked to talk to Mr. "My last name". I asked him who he wanted to speak to a couple of times, he replied YOU! He identified he was calling from bell on the 2nd call. I told him I did not like his attitude, told him where to go and hung up.

Just got a call from "Jonathan" calling from "Toronto" telling me we'd been shortlisted in our town (he named it) to receive a "free security system from ADT".  It made me quite nervous since he had my exact street address as well as my name and phone number.  I did tell him that we already had a system and he asked whether it was monitored or unmonitored.  I told him monitored and he said ok thanks good bye.  

easiest solution is to look up your actual adt office/dealler & return the courtesy of calling them with inane questions & rude attitude.  if they ask why you are calling them so often you can let them know you are simply returning the favour.

This exact same thing just happened to me around the same time.  (I believe I live in the same area, based on your "name". Really rude guy. Refuse to give me any info.   The number is "spoofed" and is not a real number.  Geesh!   They must really hate going to work :/

I, like a lot of you before, got a call from a indian accented gentleman who asked to speak to my husband by his first name.  I informed him he was not available at the moment and could I take a message.  The gentleman on the phone just didn't say anything, I waited (listening to the sounds of a call centre in the background noise) and then he just hung up!  I have no doubt they will call again.....aaahhhhhh

Just received a call from ADT Security (so the East Indian woman said). I told her I was on the DNC list, but she said she wasn't a telemarketer. Go figure. When asked repeatedly to remove me, she continued with her spiel until she finally hung up. I filed a complaint with the Registry, but doubt it'll make any difference to these call centres.

I have received phone calls all weekend. It was a guy saying he was from ADT systems. We told him we were not interested, but he kept calling. Today I received 4 phone calls within a 20 min span!! The first time I answered and said no thanks, then hung up. He called right back, I didn't answer. The 3rd and 4th time he left a message on the machine. ...crazy! I had to unplug my home phone! I called ADT to report the non stop calling she said that I was added to the do not call list. And it takes 24 hours for our phone number to appear on that list. If this guy calls again after 24 hours then the lady at ADT said to call them back and let them know.

Called at 12:11. Did not recognize number, hence did not answer. After reading Jay's comment above I think I'm glad I didn't
