You called scammers back and expected them to remove your number. Yup, it worked all right, they're counting on tricking you into CONFIRMING your number. Now you'll get even more junk phone calls. Congrats.

I called the company. They are known as WCA subscribing service for magazine subscriptions. I entered my phone number for removal. Let's see if it happens.

number on it is unknown 281-936-1874. When number is called back 1-830-865-3302 is number given. These two numbers are one in the same.

Another caller has said this number is from a jail or prison and is an attempt to transfer phone charges,...I didn't answer.

Today received telephone call from caller id no.830-865-3302; per other posts on this site, this is from either a prison or jail--bottom-line, do not respond to this call for these protaganists will charge telephone calls to your number.

I got a call from this number, I think its a collection agency. But these people are like really rude. I asked him to speak to a supervisor and he told me he was the supervisor and the he said to me how do you like them apples... What an ahole!

See the message above from "going scammer hunting".  The call person identifies himself as a texas police trouper assocation designed to obtain donations for their organization.  It is a total scam and if you give them any information, they will find a way to hack into your bank or any financial account you might have including 401k, insurance, death benifits etc.  I basically tell them I have no money and that
they need to contact Obama who is paying for everything the last I heard.

received call from this number.  guy asked for me, i said he is not here.  the guy said it was just a courtesy call and hung up.  do not answer this call.

Received calls on two different evenings at home. The number on caller ID shows as a local call from 512-588-7845 & when I answered the caller hung up after about a minute or so. Of course when I called the number back, the vm response gave 830-865-3302.

It is a call from 1-830-865-3302 that is forwarded to local phones, usually cell phones throughout the USA.

It is originated from a City Jail and it is inmates calling on a scam on behalf of officer's association or any other telemarketing scam.

They will tell you to call *72 or some related asterisk and digit and then some telephone number for a credit of an erroneous charge.
What that does is make your phone forwarded to another phone so that other phone can make outgoing calls and you pay the bill.
Do what I did.
I wrote down the time and day of the call and filed a complaint with County Jail administrator, since they have audio records and can add more jail time for this scam. Alternately, tell them to f*** off and hang up

Two days running now this person (male) calls, asks for my husband, I say he isn't available and ask for a message.  He says no and hangs up before I can ask who is calling.  When you call back you get an un-named voicemail.
