This is definitely NOT Sprint finance. I got a call from a 480-263-4013 number saying to call this 800 number concerning my Sprint account with phone number ending in 2648. I don't have a number ending in 2648. I'm pretty sure that Sprint would know what numbers I have... If you want to pay your Sprint bill, press *3 from your mobile or go online.

NOT A SCAM - If they called you and you do not have a Sprint Account, it is most likely that whomever had your number before you did.

This is legitimate Sprint Collections.

NO, you should never give anyone personal information over the phone unless you are calling a known business.  And no, they will not give you the information of the former account holder, and yes they have that information but can't disclose names, ssn or anything else either.

If you don't have a sprint account just tell them they have the wrong number.

This is a scam! I NEVER had a Sprint account and when I called the number back the "Sprint financial" system said my home landline, associated with the account, owed them $1,185.38, of which $814.03 was past due! I spoke to "representative", "supervisor", finally "fraud department" of which none helped, because I would not give them my social security number! They must be crazy to think they would just get someone's social security number that easily. I provided them with my home number they keep automatedly calling. ANYBODY that says this is not a scam must be associated with it and want you to fall victim to the scam! Beware and don't even respond to their trickery! If this was legitimate, the company would be able to check their database and locate the account as it was able to tell me how much I supposedly owed. I am a database programmer and this smells like a skunk!

THIS IS NOT A SCAM!!!!! If you have a Sprint / Nextel account and have a past due bill, and close to having your service disconnected, they call you to let you know to make a payment.

I came in home and checked on missing calls but that 800-934-6951 is harassing for money regarding the bills.  I already agreed with the real Sprint company for payment arrangements.

I would love to thank all of you for this information. Recently the number in question called me and actually left an automated voice message (with a non-human voice) and earlier they called (w/o a voice message). I love using the site for numbers I have no clue about.

I had my Sprint number and account less than a week and had given the number out to nobody yet.  I also had recently confirmed that there was a zero balance with all charges paid when I got the call from (800) 934-6951 which ID'd as Sprint and then told me to press 1 to "continue for $5/minute" or press 2 to "pay a different amount."  Huh?  I hung up and called *2 to report the incident to Sprint and they put an alert on my account to watch for fraudulent activity.

This is absolutely a fraud and the fact that shills are coming here to disrupt the flow of information is ominous.  If they call you, please use *2 to report the incident to Sprint and then block the number, as I did.

just got off the phone with sprint customer service and they asked me what number has called me.  when i gave them this 800 9346951, he said he would put it ti the fraud department, as this was not their number.  he also said they cantact through texting, and if they do call, it is from a restricted number.  some people are going say that i'm full of crap and to just pay your bill.  i fugure they work for this scammer.  the best way to find out for yourself is just to contact sprint directly.  just dial *2.  don't fall for this!

Got a call from this number this morning at about 0930. I didn't answer, they left no message. I got a Sprint text a couple of days ago about my past due bill.  Instead of calling this number back, I called the main Nextel number, got to the billing dept automated system, which asked me if I wanted to pay using the same card I used before, then it gave ME the last 4 digits of the card.

Having paid my bill, I called the number that called me.  It sounds legitimate, and it gave me the exact amount that I was past due.  When it offered to let me make a payment, I dropped the call at that point, having just paid.

Bottom line, I think this is the number for the "sub-marketer" that I actually got the original service plan from, which is why Sprint Cust Care doesn't know this number.

These people buy a "block plan" of, say, 10,000 phone numbers with certain terms and a good discount, then they sell them to the end users (us), like sub-leasing an apartment.  This puts us in both computers, theirs and the one at Sprint.  If we get behind in the bill, Sprint tells us AND tells THEM (because they are actually responsible for the bill), and they call us.  A payment made to either system will clear it up.

NO WAY could a scam run OVER TWO YEARS on the same phone number.  It's not like an email scam, that phone number is answered SOMEWHERE.  If it weren't legitimate, the people who answer would be quickly found and the number cut off, once we started telling Sprint about it.

That said, I'll add that you should NEVER NEVER NEVER MAKE A PAYMENT TO SOMEONE WHO CALLS YOU -- always dial the main Sprint number and make your payments there.  When you make your payment there, the sub-marketer will also get their commission and stop calling.
