I also got the same message from the same number - this was my response
"According to the FCC CAN-SPAM Act you are unable to send unwanted text messages by autodialer - I have to have given you consent or have a business relationship with you, so how did you get my contact information? To prevent legal action I suggest you respond."
That also made further messages stop

Thanks for responding with this information.

Also, just an FYI: The most common way to fall victim to this kind of crap, is by browsing to certain sites on your phone. Your phone hits the site, the site generates the messages. The same applies to 'free' and otherwise not-to-be-trusted apps - You download the app, the app sends your info to the scumbag [usually some shady 'web cam' site] and then 'Tiffany' 'Candy' or other such nonsense sends you a text. This goes without saying for most, but NEVER go to the web sites listed in these kind of texts [especially from your phone!] because that when the real 'fun' starts.

These kind of messages are pretty common now with the ability to send SMS text messages via the internet becoming so accessible/exploitable. This particular one should stop if you reply "STOP". [At least it worked for me]
There shouldn't be any damage from sending a reply via SMS text [other than these "people" having your number]

This is happening to me and my friends too

I received the same message this morning. I want to reply STOP! but I am afraid to throw the ball back. I to am on the "do not call" list.

My cel phone is on the "do not call" list but I received this text this morning: "Hey its tiffany i just put pics on my profile here ow.ly/idGyY my username is xxchick99 u might have to make a free account to view them" Searching on phone number online produced no usable results. As an old white hetero female who also appreciates proper use of the English language and punctuation rules, I've no interest and really wish there were some way to prevent this from happening. Any ideas?
