Fake Short Term or Payday Loan Scam

Calls from the following area codes and numbers have all been reported to be scammers.  These scammers use phony number and names to attempt to get potential victims to send in money on fake loans that appear to be from legitimate sources.

The names vary each time.  These fraudsters have committed company identify theft against a Federal Credit Union.

Consumers targeted by the scam typically are looking for a payday or short term loan and search the Internet for assistance.  They voluntarily place their personal information on these independent sites (not recommended) and then receive an email from one of the aliases. They say that you have been approved for a short term loan that is affiliated with companies that the scammer has no association with whatsoever.

Consumers who respond by telephone to the offer are then told that in order to receive the loan, they have to pay for either an upfront fee, taxes owed, processing fee, etc., in the form of a MoneyPak or Pre-paid credit card including Vanilla Network cards.  Do not pay any upfront fees and hang up on them.  

They can get your details from any voters listing, and various other legal (or otherwise ) sources. However, they don't know anything that you need to be scared about, as long as you haven't divulged any banking information. They are trying to get you to pay them up front for a loan that doesn't exist.

They are parasites, usually based in Asia /India, and can't do anything to you, as long as you ignore them.

They use names like 'Steve Austin ' and 'Gary Cooper '!!!!!!! Muppets!

These people are calling telling me I'm approved for a loan up to ten thousand dollars but I need to buy insurance on the amount that I would be getting. Did u notice they are mid eastern accents with english names. They r scam proffesionals, Im using an allyious name because Im afraud of them. How do they know who u r ummmmm!!!!!!!.

I told them I died 6 months ago.  They say "sorry" and hang up.  They stopped after a few more times.

These people call you and tell you that you want a loan. I told him I don't want a loan. He called me an idiot.

i dunno who this be but they need to stop the calls. they is callin ever day like mad crazy.
