CALLED WITH CASE NUMBER

Calling with a case number ?? Where is the call originating from?

These people are calling my number looking for someone that never lived at my home.  This company says they can continue to call me for somone else.  I need to know who to report them to.  I don't owe them and I don't do collection calls.  I am very angry.

No ID as to WHO........just call!! I do not answer calls from numbers I do not know. If there is no REAL (no recorded or machine)message then I feel it is not important enough to call back.

I received a message saying I need to call Ron Kennedy reagrding a file he got on me. Bu***hit!!!! if you cannot leave your name and company I am NOT calling you back..you not gonna get me with that crap!!!

This company has called my phone from more than 1 number several times today!! Won't leave a message and have NO idea who they are.......why doesn't the government spend some energy on issues like this instead of wasting our tax dollars on things that are working fine!!!!!

Received a recorded call from this number, called back on land line and it immediately rolled over in to your are caller number 14, your call will be answered in the order it was received.

I got a call on my cell phone from 1-877-278-5106,don't know them.Asking for me.

Got a call from these people on what I assumed was a legit debt.... told the rude young man that I would need to call back when i could research this... he told me he had to settle it today and that he would set up payments from my checking account. I told him that I would need to discuss this with my husband and he said he just needed my checking information. I told him I dont carry my checkbook with me... he than asks " What kind of woman doesnt carry her checkbook with her?...Do you not know the routing number and account number?" When i said no he hung up.

This guys is aparently, stalking old debts and trying to get some money out of it. I kept track of his numbers si watch it people,,,,, thats why they say never gove out your credit card, bank, or any info to anyone that just askes you for it.

Very early phone calls .Never answer when I pick up phone.

Yet another debt collector complaint from me! The person who lived here 10 years ago must have racked up some serious debt and we are suffering for it. Telling them the person does not live here and hasn't for nearly a decade is not working and my family gets and average of 45-50 calls per week from different zombie debt collection agencies (PRA is the worst and most harassing). What do I do?

Got a call today from this number, computer lady voice asking for Jodi Velaski, said it wasn't a sales call.  

Should they not obey the 800-dont-screw-with-me number?  Guess not :-(

I got a call from 843-278-0375.   It rang both on my office and cell phones and then dropped quickly.   I am guessing they called my Google number which rings all of my phones.   This has happened before, so today I redialed the number from my cell.  

After a bit of time on hold a woman answered and said "CRA.".  I explained all this.  She asked for my numbers.  I gave her my office and cell numbers just called.   She said they weren't in her database.  I explained the Google thing, but couldn't give her that number as I don't know it by heart.   She said, find that number and call back.

I asked her what CRA stands for.   She said find that number and call back - and she hung up.  She wouldn't even tell me what CRA stands for.

I am not calling back.  If I actually do owe someone money, they can send me snail mail.

They are looking someone, I tell them I don't know the person but they are still continue calling me.

I told the woman that it wasn't on my credit report either!!!!  Why would I pay something that isn't on my credit report as being owed?

I received a call from this #. The woman was so rude!! She said it was in regards to a providian account from 2000. That the  amount was $1,000.00 but because of the interest over the years, it's now $4,000.00. She said that she could work with me to lower it. According to my credit report.... it wasn't on there. It's more then 7 years old and must have been written off???? I told her I wouldn't do anything over the phone. I said I could give her my mailing address and she said no. She said times have changed and we do things differently now. I told her i wanted something in writing and she said she couldn't do that. That makes no sense. She said the conversation was being recorded. I said.... I'm trying to work with you and give you my mailing address and you keep saying I can't do that. Is this a scam?? She wanted my checking account info to make a payment instead. How do I know she is ligit?

They just called me as well.  The lady also called me by my nickname and said shes fromo CRA and shes looking for someone with the last ss# of ****.  She said is that you?  I said well those are my last 4 ss# digits!  She got mad and said she was calling about a credit card debt from 2005.  I told her my attorney is handling that and we are disputing it.  She got very pushy and asked why we were disputing it.  I told her I dont recall but my wife may and she wasnt home.  She told me to tell my wife to call her.  I said "ok!".........yea right.  Weasels trying to collect old old debt and they buy it 4 next to nothing and try and get something from you.  Lawyer told me eventually after so many years it goes away anyway.  So theyre merely trying to grab a dollar or two.  Morons.

I received a call from C.R.A. asking for Elaine Jackson. I have told them this isn't Elaine and they continue to call.

I just received a call from this #, the first.  I was divorced several years ago, and had an attorney take care of everything, but apparently a couple of minor items may have "fallen through the cracks."  Anyway, I get an occasional call from #'s like this.  I never answer, and cut them off while ringing.  When away from phone, most leave no message, and those who leave voicemails are usually circumspect, and leave no definitive info other than a name, return #, and maybe a "file #" or some phoney indication of urgency.  I finally thought to check "Wikipedia."  There is a good article - just Google "Debt buyer" and you'll find a good concise article and description as to how these weasels operate logistically.

I have been getting the same calls but they were asking for a person I didn't know. I them my first and last name to assure them that I wasn't her... to my surprise the number comes up on my caller I'd a month later and I was ready to tell them tht the women doesn't live here they then said they were not calling for her but for me. I was shocked! The women who's name is Jennifer told me that I have an outstanding debt of 27,000.00 WHAT!! and that it was a debt from 2000 I assured her that I don't owe any money and she said she was going to contact the IRS and file a 1099c or something like that against me. I laughed and she started yelling at me telling me that I have an obligation to pay off this debt which by the way is not reported on my credit I told her I would be calling my lawyer and she hung up on me.... I called back to finish my conversation and was yelled at then hung up on again. Just so everyone is aware they have caller id so they knew it was me calling back. I'm going to file a complaint with the FTC

Sam here... Twice a week!!1 Annoying as heck. BTW, They only used my nick name. Which means.. they don't even know my legal name!!How is that??

Received a call on my caller ID at 8:20am this morning. I was in the shower. I called the number back got a man saying he needed to speak to a "Ryan Pendley" I stated I don't know a Ryan Pendley. He then proceeded to say "are you Ryan Pendley?" I said "No", he then said "Do you know that it is a crime to falsely identify yourself during a legal investigation"....I said "I'm sure it is, do you want to come to my home and check my drivers license?" then he hung up.......what is this crap? They really need to get their numbers correct...

I just started receiving call after call from phone number 843-278-0375. I don't know the number so I didn't bother to answer but I have receive upwards of 6 calls in a single day. I read the comments people left below and noticed one with a link to the FTC to submit your concerns about the companies collection tactics. If everyone goes on and sends even a short 1 lines complaint, maybe we can shut these bullies down. Check it out below.

I get calls from them all the time, but the funny thing is that they call me on my cell phone but my cell number is listed with my company, they furnish my cell phone so how they got my number is a mystery.
They are a collection agency trying to collect on old debts, they buy the loan and then try to collect it from you,they have no legal jurisdiction but if you agree to any payment then the original debt is re-activated and you are legally bound to pay it. Don't answer and they will eventually stop.
