Received a call late at night from this number saying my card had been locked but hung up...Your bank would call you directly and identify themselves if your card was to get locked....

I got a call on my cell phone from this number - it was an automated message that was breaking up - all I could make out was that it was a call from such&such bank (sounded like Providence Bank) saying either my debit card or my credit card (couldn't tell b/c it was breaking up) has been locked. It said to press 1 to be transferred to their security department. I hung up.

We received one of these calls. They stated there was frad on our credit card. It was an obvious attempt to "phish" for personal information. We called our credit card issuer and they stated no issues w/ the card. Beware my friends..

Received a prerecorded call from east india saying my card was marked due to fraudulent activity and I needed to hit 1 to talk to a representative.  Luckily when I hit 1  I hit end call instead and when I called back, the operator said the number was disconnected.  I drove down to my bank and the manager said they are asking for your bank account number so don't give it to them as you will be finding  missing money if not all of it.  She also said the fraud departments from banks already know your account number so they will never ask for it, they will just want to confirm who they are talking to and go from there.  Chances are it will be a live person calling you, not a recording.

be careful out there, my wife works in credit card fraud at her work and 99% of these thieves are out east.

If you think fraud will never happen to you, think again.  We got a call from our bank 2 months ago saying that over 900 dollars in grocery's were bought at a store in Spain on our debit card., we live in the midwest, and I can assure you  we didn't buy anything, we were working that day.   So YES, it can happen to you....
