Every day I receive a message from an unkown number and they leave the following message: "this message is for ____ ____ I have some documentation being sent to the clerk's office. If you have any questions as to what the particulars are regarding the information being issued, I highly recommend you call 844-248-4664 in reference to document control number ________ if there is no call back we will deem address verified and information issued."

When I called the number they asked me if I was my brother.  When I told them no, they proceeded to tell me that he named me as custodian to the account and they are contacting me to verify his phone number and address. When I started telling them they had no legal right to call me or harrass me, they said I was wrong and they certainly did since he named me as custodian.  Each day for the last week they have called and left the same message.  When I call back they answer the phone "corporate office" and refuse to tell me the company name.  When I ask for a supervisor the person answering the phone says she's the supervisor.

Debt Collector
Several time within the past week, I have been getting calls with "INCOMING CALL" on the machine and no phone number.  So, today, I decided to answer the call.  It was a black man telling me that he was going to be serving papers at my address, 113 Viewpointe Ct, on my and ALbert Ellis.  I told him that I had nothing to do with ALbert Ellis and had been divorced for 20+ years.  Then he proceeded to ask if I knew a 'Bert' and I said yes I know of him but he doesn't live here.  Then, he said well I am going to give you a Doc # and you need to call this number: 844-248-4664 and talk with them and call me back.  We will hold off serving until we hear back.  So, I thought this is crazy and called the number and then person answered as RCG and I asked who is this and what is your company's name and the return answer was "what is your name".  I said I asked you and I am not giving you mine.  I have a DOC number here and am going to give it to you and want to know what it is  and why you are calling.  I gave them the Doc number they gave me and he said well it is a summons and if you don't sign for it he will miss his court date and be in trouble.  I said well maybe I need to have my attorney call you or better yet let's talk about it again and I am going to record it and he said you can't record it.  So, I just said don't send me anything I will not accept it or sign for it.  I then called a friend who had gotten the same thing and I googled the number and found out that it is a scam.  One calls and sends you to another and they in turn try to get it settled and send you back to the other.  I have been bothered after midnight with these calls from INCOMING.  I have since called TV12 ON YOUR SIDE and given them the information and asked them to also look into it.

Please do something about this and I will help any way I can to end these scams.

These people called my place of employment claiming I had a debt from over 15 years ago, that has been taken care off. The woman claiming to "serve" me called me 3 times after I told her "Ok come serve me then" She asked for my office manager who was sitting right beside me when it happened. I also told them not to call my place of employment as well. Which they did after and hung up on my boss when she said that it was inappropriate for them to call back like this when I already handled the situation. She would not tell me she was calling from and told me I had to call 844-248-4664 and give them a "docket" number. I called and was hung up on 3 times but the rude "switchboard" girl. Then I finally s/w someone named Angela who answered the phone with "Hi this is angela what is the problem?" I played stupid and said I was told to call this number. She again said what is the problem. I said that's your job to tell me is it not. I told her I had a letter showing this debt was paid, I asked for the mailing address, she stated I could fax it to 855-332-7548. I stated ok but I would like to mail it certified as well. Can I please have the address, she said we can receive it fine by fax. So I stated simply "are you refusing to give me your address" she stated im not playing this game and hung up on. They are obviously scammers. They should be careful I am 7 months pregnant with high blood pressure and it is through the roof right now due to these phonecalls! I have reported them to the FTC and attorney general office. These guys need to be stopped!!!!!

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

?is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
?refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
?asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
?exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

?Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.

.?Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.

?Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.

?Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.

?Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

Received call on Friday, June 6, 2014 at 6:00 p.m......showed on Caller ID as "unknown name" and "private number".  Left message saying to call clerk back 844 248-8664 with docket number FL130988 to "release papers".

They want info about my daughter-in-law's mother. They said they need to know where she lives because they want to serve paperwork for a lawsuit.  I assume they are debt collectors but not sure.  Asked who they are - said they are RC Litigation.

If you get a call, it is probably because in an internet search your name comes up associated in some way to a person they are looking to find.

Scammers set up boiler rooms and fake company names, and addresses.  In fact, often times, they'll give you an address as a "Suite #" and it turns out to be a drop box in a UPS store.  The fake company names and locations make it very difficult to track them down.  Please do report them if you have a company name and number. You can report them to the FTC, and also your state's Attorney General.  It may take a while, but eventually, their life of crime catches up with them.
