I have noticed a little pattern here. These numbers have at least 3 of the same number in a row, for example,  9193799999 or 88817.  These are actual numbers that called me. Also along with the pattern, claims to have a certain name (which usually starts with 'S' (steve or snyder) claims to be from Microsoft, thick Indian accent, wants to see your computer. Hmmm.... Sounds alot like someone who doesn't give up. If we see these numbers on our caller ID, we don't even answer the phone.  We go straight to the off button.

I also got a phone call from this 'Steve'. He had a thick Indian accent. He has been calling for a long time and I think it is time something was done about it. He claims to be from Microsoft.  I don't believe him one bit.

I got a call from this same number. I think these scammers can somehow change their number. Before, I kept getting calls from 9193799999. Both people behind that phone number had a thick Indian accent, claimed to be from Microsoft and asked to see my computer. I think it is the same person. He is a liar. "Woe unto the liar, for he shall be thrust down to hell"

The caller tells you they will disinfect your computer at a very reasonable price. After (or, sometimes, before) you send the money, they tell you to click on some buttons and links, so they can disinfect your computer. However, if you do that, you give the scammer full access to your computer, and they will do nasty things, such as steal your card or bank data (if you had it on your computer), steal your contact list, and send friends phony emails. Needless to say, if you sent money, it is gone. If you gave THEM your card number, consider contacting your card issuer!

Microsoft and/or its contractors do NOT cold call people!

Just got off the phone with "Austin, Certified Microsoft System Sr." with a very heavy Indian accent (from India, not native American). Told me that they had detected a virus that was infecting my computer in 3 places and told me to get on the computer so that he could help me stop the threat. Sounded very suspicious, even caller ID was strange (88817). I demanded his phone number, which he reluctantly gave me (844) 615-7281 and told him that I would research this and call him back. The only reason I would call him back is to inform him of Revelation 21:8 ... and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.?. I feel very sorry for him and others who sin with impunity, for the devil really has hold of him and is using him to hurt others, and he will be destroyed in the end!

I also got a call from Luke Harper, very persistent.. I would not do what he asked. Caller ID was unknown caller. Claimed he was calling to help me correct the problems in my computer for free. Told him I would not open any programs or run anything that he asked me to do because I had no idea who he was. He kept insisting that he was there to fix my computer. Took his name and phone number and told him I would call him back...NOT
Strong Indian accent and lots of noise in background of people talking on phones. This definitely appears to be a scam.

OMG!!!!!   I just hung up with a real life HACKER!!!!!   He "Steve" called me and he said he was from Kin-too-Kee  (Kentucky) and lives at 41091.  Now the phone number that appeared on my phone was 18-8836 and he wanted me to get on my computer so he can remote in to "fix" my computer because he is with Microsoft!!!  BAHAHAHAH  So I decided to have 15 minutes of fun with this fool!!!!!  I started by asking for his toll free number 844-615-7281 and Googled it and found out that many people reported it as a hackers.  LOL  So I asked him for his street address and he kept repeating his zip code, then asked him what the weather was like and asked him if it was hot or cold.  This is all while I am on the computer checking the weather for 41091 (70degree) and he said it was cold.  I asked him how many people fall for this and he said many people do what he asks.  I proceeded to tell him he is a liar and a thief.  He agreed!!!  BAHAHAHAHAHAHA  I asked him if he knew what that meant and I was literally laughing out loud!!!!  He said YES!!!!  then he told me I am a thief and I steal money?!?!?!?!  He finally hung up on me.  I like turning things around on idiots.

Caller identified himself as Luke Harper, a Microsoft Engineer.  Said that my computer had sent him messages regarding serious issues that he needed to talk to me about fixing.  I was leery so I googled the number.  I'm so glad that I checked out the number before I made the mistake of working on my computer with him.

Prank Call
844-615-7281

Caller falsely identified himself as an employee of Microsoft named Ryan Morris.  Basically, they want to remote in and steal all of your information.  This guy had an accent.  Once they start explaining the situation - there's malware on your computer and they will help you fix it, the phone number they called was registered to Microsoft Windows - it starts sounding legit.  This is a VERY common scam.  They do a screenshare and steal your files, put viruses on, etc.

This was especially funny since this is a Mac household :)
