I got a call on my cell asking for a Martin DeWood (not me). A voice message was recorded and this is the message " a failed banking terminal transaction tied to your name and social security number has been detected. Failure to respond immediately may result in a breech of banking protocol, which violates terms of use. Your reference number is 220578. The phone number for client services is 844 742 0023. Failure to recitify this matter may result in a freeze of open trade lines pending the investigation."  From another phone, I called the 844 number and and listened to their prerecorded screening message.  The company identified itself as ACG.  I remained connected through the wait time and spoke with a Lisa.  I told her that I had received a call for a Martin DeWood, she verified that my cell number was the number referenced to this account and she stated that it would be removed as being incorrect.

Received call from ACG (Key West) regarding some type of debt owed by a family member who never lived in my home.  I advised Amelia that the family member is estranged and requested they remove my number from their system.  Although I had just received the message ironically my phone number didn't come up under their database; nevertheless, Amelia said she would take the number to IT and have them manually remove it.  Any future calls from this number I'll just ignore because they have nothing to do with me.

I agree with others, if the debt is that important, put it in writing and send notice to the responsible person, phone calls won't hold water in court.

Scam. They change their phone numbers and deactivate them on a regular basis. Today it was ACG debt collection, but yesterday it was Key West "pre litigation". Different number, but I spoke to 3 different people, all the same as the day before, recognized all of their voices, claiming to be completely different people with a different company. Ignore them.

Yes ive been victimized by fraud before and #1 rule is if they cant provide u with any paperwork or tangible proof of this so called debt then they are fraud...they can run their mouths all they want about arrests, court, etc but if they deny u paperwork their words don't mean anything.....and legally for a debt collection no one can just come and arrest you would be served court papers first and then if you are employed they would just garnish your wages.....dont let these people scare you....know your rights!!!

Ok people!   This is a scam.  Got call today with same message as you all.  Add this number to the 17 other phone numbers that have called me since Jan. 2014 and it equals SCAM!!!!! I have been keeping track of all the different numbers with basically the same message from each one.  I have been threatened with arrest and court documents going to arrive at my home or office if i do not respond within 48 hours.  Since i started keeping track last year i am still waiting to either be arrested or be served with papers.  I keep thinking that sooner or later the calls will stop and they take me off of their list because i never answer and i never call them back!  Which means i am not falling for their SCAM!    If i can help at least one person who reads this from giving these scum bags any information and not give these scum bags any money, i feel i have done my job.  I will keep tracking the different phone calls that i get and looking them up and then posting something like i am posting today so i can help others not fall victim to these scum bags.  And in response to Slim!  You are so correct!  If you made a bad purchase using your bank account.  The bank will contact you or it will show on your statement report!  DO NOT GIVE ANYONE ANY INFORMATION WHO CALLS YOU WITH THESE TYPES OF THREATS.  YOU DO NOT OWE ANYONE MONEY!!!!!!  Thank you.

I received the same call. When a live person came on the line (after the auto voice) I told her that I needed to call my bank. She then hung up. I called my bank and all is ok with my accounts. Told me not to give any information to anyone over the phone. I then called the number 844-742-0023 from a different phone and a guy named Michael answered. I told him I was returning a call and I wanted to know who ACG was. He played it off like saying High Definition. He asked if I was call on xxx-xxx-xxxx I told him no that I was calling from a different number WELL guess what when I wouldn't give him the number they originally called he HUNG UP.

In response to call originiated from area code 844, I looked up the area code at areacode.org and found that this is a toll free number for the calling party and the cost of the call is charged to the called party.  Therefore, please never respond to any call with area code 844 in it. Thanks.

I got a call from this number saying I was involved in an ATM fraud and unless I replied I would be taken to court.  When I asked for further details a man called Michael (He wouldn't give his last name) stated that until I gave them my SSN they couldn't tell me more.  I refused to give out any information at all and he first got abusive and threatening then when I refused to even give out my address he hung up on me.

>>  a failed bank transaction <<

If you wrote a bum check, or otherwise were involved with a "Not Sufficient Funds" problem, your bank would have notified you.

Ignore the call.

They call and threaten you that you have to call a 800# and give case number.  They leave a message see you in court!!!  Also, they state they have a warrant for your arrest and will come to your work to get you.   If you call they want your SS# and will not talk to you without it.   Either a scam or just debt collectors like Sprint or comcast because they sell their stuff to sleezy collectors.

This call computerized came for a person who no longer lives at this residence. The message indicates  a case number to which the intended recipient must respond. No one living in the household is that intended person. I suppose it is about some legal proceeding. This household is not legally responsible for the individual and has asked to be placed on the do not call list. We are being harassed(by computer) over something of which we have no knowledge. How fair is that?

These people called up my dad and try to scare them, telling them that they would come and take me to court, sad that they are creepy people that have nothing better to do than try and scare older people.
