I am so sorry - I listed the "Do Not Call List" phone number wrong! I should have wrote : 1-888-382-1222. I left out the first 3 numbers after 888 above the first time I wrote in.

My mother has been getting calls from this number: 845-228-8442 and she says that they just keep hanging up. One time someone even called her by name.
I called the annoyance call bureau and the person was kind enough to let me know that this number is a telemarketer. He said to see if my mom was on the government's "Do Not Call List" (you call 1-888-1222 from the residence where the calls are being received). Just thought someone else could use this info. By the way, if you are on the "Do Not Call List", you can file a complaint about this number (I have to find out how).

Repeat calls from these numbers:
(480)999-1234 and
(845)228-8442
The first number, the person usually just hangs up. One day I didn't say anything for a long time and then they said something in Spanish and hung up. The second number called me yesterday and today. First was a hang up. Today a woman said "can you drink for free?" I replied she had the wrong number.

Got the same crap. They call and when my machine picked up, there is no message. It is either a telemarketer violating the no call law, or a charity looking for money but so corrupt they won't leave a message..or an agent of reverse phone to make you buy the look up. One or the other - take your pick. If there was any justice, annoying calls like that would be a free reverse look up so they can be reported.

This number calls every single day and never leaves a message. The Caller ID just says Carmel, NY.
