Not a scam, genuinely the Fraud Department.  Confirmed with the bank, doesn't request any card details and asks you to validate the last 5 transactions through an automated service.  All above board.

If this is Natwest: 08453561060 - why are they calling me when I don't bank with them..... scam obviously... fraud departments ring you normailly with a human on the end of the phone..

Just had a call to-night from 08453560020 and said ,payment for gambling of £50 and then another £5 for the same so kept hold and a woman answered and asked for card details to which I said about mixed views as above so the woman said this is the Nat west fraud .she said phone the number on the back of your Card which I did. This is a new card and only used twice at the ATM in a week. so people if in doubt dont phone this number and phone the phone number on the back of your card and you will get Nat west and you will be sorted and in answer to the question yes I was scammed so in my eyes this is Nat west ringing you to tell you.

So if you're abroad and happily shopping but get blocked by the bank it's likely the uk bank will be closed? Or in a UK nightclub? The fraud centres are all in England and not India in a different time zone? Unlikely.

If what you said was true most people would leave Natwest. I would.

This is a legit service from Natwest.  The number can be seen on their website - go to the natwest homepage, click 'contact us' then under 'in an emergency' the section for reporting fraud shows 'Returning a call from our automated service in relation to your debit card?' and the number as 0845 356 0020

I have been inundated with calls and messages from this number over the last 24 hours. Not trusting mobile calls and automated services with weird sounding name pronunciation, I hve so far rejected any contact, and can't find anything on NatWest so far.

Normally this web site clears it up, not this time unfortunately.
Oh well, off to do more research.

I have had a call from this number today (+8453560020), so I called natwest number on the back of my card, they have confirmed they have been trying to call me today and passed me to the fraud team.

Looking at my other missed calls today i have also recieved a call from 08453560020 - so it looks like their dialler is putting a + instead of a 0 on some calls, When speaking to the fraud team not once did i give them any account numbers or sort codes and they confirmed my last 5 transactions which are accurate.

They outcome of the call was not too good as i know why i ended up on the list, but they still cancelled my card though it was an honest mistake on just eat (didnt change the auto filled name on the form) ah well.

One day, someone will find out who you are........and then.......

I gave them my account details and lost all my money.  I thought it was a genuine siet but now I know it isn't.  I called the police.

I don't belive anything that is written here.  If you have a security issue with you bank go to your local branch and speak to a person face to face.

Just had a call from this number.  If it is a Natwest security mechanism it really is a very misleading and inapprpriate one. A more believable solution need to be developed.  Very annoying indeed.

This is a genuine number used by the Natwest Fraud Prevention team.

If you return the call you will be put through to an automated service where you will have to confirm your date of birth and recent transactions made using your bank card.

You will not have to give any account details or card details.

They will tell you the latest transactions made and you have to confirm or deny these were made by you.  No scam would know where you had been using your bank card that day and where.

Im getting a call from this number.  When I don't answer it leaves an automated answerphone message claiming its Natwest and I need to call an 0845 number.  They claim its a security call.

I didn't trust this number so called the card enquiries number on the back off my natwest card.  They put me through to the fraud team and turns out the number was genuine.  My account had been flagged up as a possible fraud case (maybe because I was working away and using my card in a different area).  I just had to confirm some of my recent transactions to confirm I had performed them.  The employee at Natwest said to always call the number on your card like I did if you have any doubts, there are mixed reviews on the internet regarding this number but i was assured by Natwest that the number is genuine.  Hope this helps!

Just got a message from this number at 8:47PM AUG - from "Natwest Automated Fraud Prevention Service".

SCAM! Ignore the emails below, anyone can write on these blog reports. I have done some extensive research and found the number to be a scam I will relate below why:-

1. There is no UK based 24 Hour bank account fraud prevention it closes at 8PM.
2. There is no automated fraud account service, asking you to type your bank account details in. This is handled by a security specialist at Natwest Bank.
3. The number is dialing out of a non UK based call spoofing address, namely a ( +845 ) 356 ... , after some reverse call investigation this is a US based number dailing from the Spring Valley area of New York state.

++++PLEASE ignore this number and any future phone calls from a bank fraud line, if you have any doubts log onto www.natwest.com and go to the fraud line numbers. I have been scammed by this sort of call before so BEWARE++++

I got a similar call today too and I heard an automated message that was started off as a message for me but I lost the call soon after.
