These jack a***s call me all the time too,never leave a message.I just stopped picking up their calls.

I received a call this morning - Carmel, NY.  Let my machine pick up and they left no message.  Called back. They said it was Job.com and would I like to make the most of my job search.  I said NO and hung up.

Have "opted out" by selecting "3" as instructed.  They continued calling from the same number and others....with a vengence!

I got 4 calls in less than 2 minutes!!!! I added them to my verizon blocked caller id #'s. Complaining to SEC and being on the federal do not call list does not help. SEC is useless. Obama spends trillions on expanding the federal gov't but can get the SEC to get these pain in the butts from annoying us with their calls. The 2 idiots we have as senators in NYS can't do anything because they are too busy running for perpetual re-election. I'd like to add call forwarding and have these calls go to them. Throw all the incumbents out anyone can do a better job

They have called me several times. Caller ID simply says , Carmel, NY. No one there. When I called it back, I got an automated answering machine saying one of our agents recently tried to call, we're very sorry we missed you. Please press 1 if you want to be removed from our list.

Carmel NY 845 520-9320 A recording with someone going to talk to me about my electric bill.  I keep pressing 1. I give the recording the # it still calls even though they say they will take me off.  I am getting very sick of these liars.

Received calls from (845) 520-9320 on Sept 24 (410pm), Sept 25 (1153am), Sept 26 (424pm), and now today, October 1, 2012 at 407pm.  Sometimes the CID reads "Carmel, NY", and other times "eight, four, five".  On our answering machine is always a computer voice already in the process of leaving a message -- something about "lowering your electric bill".

Received 2 calls from this 'electric' company within 1/2 hour of each other.  Decided to speak with representative to have my name removed from list.  After waiting more than 5 minutes for someone to come on the liine, as soon as she realized I was not interested she hung up.  I am also on the Do Not Call LIst.  Apparently pretty useless.

It starts as a recorded message.  I've gotten missed calls from this number several times in the past and have also answered and pressed "3" numerous times to be removed from their list.  Doesn't work.  This time I answered and stayed on the line for a representative.  I was call #2 and they would get to me asap.  I waited..... Chris came on and immediately wanted to know if I had my utility bill.  I asked for his company name and was told "The Discount Center".  I asked where they were located. He finally said NYC.  He asked for my account number for my utility company.  I advised that I did not give that information freely over the phone to strangers.  He said he'd have to move on to the next caller who was interested in saving money.  I asked him to remove me from their call list but he hung up.....

Like so many others, rec'd two calls today about the power bill issue.  I called the number back and recd' recorded message abou the survey as mentioned above and that if I would like to be removed from the list, press 1 and one of their agents would remove me. WHY DO I TRUST THEM???

Something should really be done about the scams.  I am on the DO NOT CALL LIST TOO.

No, it's not a political message but that's a good guess. Received a partial message on the 20th call for the day. "...if you want a discount on your electric bill press...." It is some powere company trying to get you to switch to them.

This # keeps calling me at home non-stop with a voice mail message to press 1 if I don't want to be called anymore. I am afraid to press any # and just hang up. They never leave a company name, nothing. I am very extremely leery and annoyed by being pestered with junk/scam calls. Don't know who these pushy "crooks" are!  (Hear static on the call also - strange.)

If you call the number back, you can opt to remove yourself from their list.

they called this morning and told me they were nyseg. i called the nyseg 800 number and they said i dont owe a bill so i dont appreciate this company posing as nyseg.

This is supposedly a retail energy supplier (or provider). I am a consultant with Ambit Energy Company and we are NOT ALLOWED to cold call people. I  stayed on the line to get company information after I get the callers name and they hang up on me. They called 3 times today, twice while I was home and the same thing happened antd the third time the answering machine took the call and the hung up.

They actually left a two minute voice message ... of garbled voices.

I called my utility company about these guys because they referred to them in the robocall. The utility company told me I need to get the company name in order to stop them. So next time they called I pretended interest. Rep claimed they represent about 30 different companies, and they would find the best rates for me.

I was very skeptical, especially since many years ago, a long distance company switcher had "slammed" me - changed my long distance service to one that cost me more money - without my permission. Utility told me that all these callers have to do is submit my account number with a request to change me to their service. Utility then mails out a notice that you have been switched, giving us the opportunity to stop it. Spammers are relying on the fact that we don't always read all our mail from our utility companies (guilty as charged). However, my utility offered to put a block on my line, which I took advantage of. Even if they get my account number (which is why they start the call by asking for your account), the utility company would have to get my overt approval before switching, a practice I highly recommend for you all!

Got a call from this number. Pre-recorded message announced that some "bill" was recently passed in my area and that "we" could lower ConEd bill by pressing #5 and #3 to refuse taking the advantage of it. To talk to one of "their" reps. I'd need to locate my ConEd bill. If I didn't have enough time, a rep. would "wait for me".
I pressed 5 and was told I was a caller #2. When a guy named Mike announced he was on line, the first thing he said: "Do you have your electric bill in front of you?"
To that I told him:
- Before we're going to go into a "bill" situation, first tell me WHO you are, WHO you work for, WHAT'S the name of you company, HOW did you get my number.... and what's the name of the legislative bill passed to lower my electric bill with ConEd...???

That should serve those, who have any doubts about validity and legitimacy of those low-lives, who call in hope to lure info out of you. Why would I divulge info to an unknown entity who, for all I care, will next manufacture fraudulent credit cards and put my info I stupidly volunteered to them or something like that...

I got a call from this number twice in the past two days.

Called ID showed "Five-two-zero-..."

I wonder how they did that?

When I answered a robo dialer said I had the right tor recieve a refund for lower electricity costs.  Just press "1" now ... Yeah, right.  

I called Central Hudson and they said robo dialers are sometimes set up to work like this -- to get the call-receiever hooked.  It's a scam.  If CH wanted to refund money they would communicate this through the monthly power bill.  I asked the CH rep when that last happened ... and she laughed ... then regained her professionalism and said 'not in her time with CH.

Constantly callling...I call back to reach someone and can only reach automated message

They called me twice on 9/19 - once around 11am and again around 7pm. They called me again today 9/20 around 2pm. I've answered the phone and no one says anything. I called back and the recording says something like "one of our agents spoke to you about a survey or they missed you" then ask if you want to be removed press one. Very ANNOYING!!

Received a call from 845-520-9320 on 9/19/2012 at 7:57pm. Caller ID displayed "POWER BILL". Did not answer and no message was left.

Based on the feedback I found here I added the number to my Google Voice block list.

Same thing - I've put them on call block so the calls don't go through.

Actually, my caller ID showed 'Power Bill'.  Probably more political stuff.
