Just received the same texted....

got a text from 4798419@agmet1.com about direct deposit to receive. call 501 255 7933 card number 4418 58## etc failed.

I don't have a card to begin with, so I wont call but I wanted to add these numbers for this scam.

It also listed a partial account number. An e-mail was listed instead of a phone number: 2187170@agmet1.com

I did text back to inquire as to the identity of the caller and received no response. I definitely believe this is a scam! I hope that they have not tricked anyone into giving them personal information.

Mikej, yes the area code was local. I have a regular old phone nothing fancy. But I am with Verizon, which may explain alot since they make you pay for even simple # blocking!!

The weird part is I was driving through Maryland when it happened which is where the area code above belongs to. I have no ties to the area and live in another state. I was passing through during a long road trip.

It makes me think that this could be tied to a rogue app on the iPhone, which shared my personal info while simultaneously using location services. Another possibility is a worm existing on the phone carrier side. Maybe all users on a local cell tower were sent the message. This worm may have access to all current users on that tower.

To all others who received this text, what type of phone do you use (Droid, iPhone) and was the area code of the phone number in the text local to where you received it?

I got two texts messages, one from 5050099@agmet1.com saying (Call: 575 956 9169 Unemployment Benefits Insurance EPPICard Issue)

Then 215518@agmet1.com (Call: 801 653 9382.) EPPICard Child Support 511179******XXXX Account issue.

Did NOT call or respond! Keeping a close eye on my credit other accounts.

My husband and i got identical texts on March 29 concerning an Achieve pre-paid debit card, which, of course, we don't have

Keeps texting and the more urgent each time. I did not know who these people are. First one said it concerned unemployment insurance

I got a text from 2155104@agmet1.com asking me to call 801-653-9382 about a child support account issue and that my attention was needed.  Resolved all matters on child support more than 10 years ago and the "baby" is planning her wedding.  Hmmmm........
