They said it was a very urgent and serious legal matter and that I must call immediately and provide them with a case number.  The funny thing is that the message was for Mike NOT Mark.  Does anyone know what they are selling???

called my parents today 7-15-2008 and once a month for several months. is pre-recorded woman speaking clear english about "law firm" and "serios legal matter" then a man who speaks incoherantly comes on and my parents hang up

Yeah I just got a call today about a check I bounced supposedly in 2004...  I asked for a letter to be mailed or faxed to me so that I could look into the matter, however I was told that it would just proceed further and I was wasting the "firm's" time.  I have no problem paying what I owe if I owe it, but 4 years after the fact, this guy is pushing it.

This person called our business cell phone. He asked for Lisa.  I did not know of a Lisa, but to be safe, I said she was not available, and offered to take a message. The man insisted that she was either busy or asleep, but in either case present. I reminded him that this was a business.  I admitted I did not know of a Lisa, at which point he accused me of changing my story and demanded to know the truth. I asked his name and he said Mr. Hoya.  He accused me of misleading him and began demanding to know my title in our company.  I hung up on him.

I'm never home when they call, but I see the number on my caller id.  It just comes up as unknown name.

called Presidents day 4 times in one hour left a message to contact back some firm.  It is against the FDCA to contact a person more than once in a 24 hour period.

I receive calls for Candace Mack from this number stating that this legal firm requires a response for case number 5693375.  Is my only recourse to change my home phone number to get this to stop?

My fiance had the misfortune to answer this call the other day - same format as all the complaints listed to date - some legal firm, requesting to press 1 or call back regarding "an important matter".  Neither of us have any idea who, or what, the calls are about, and according to the caller ID, we've received a call a week for the last two months from this number.  Usually just goes to vmail, so haven't been able to "press 1" to respond.  Will add this to my list of numbers that I need to contact phone company about, to have blocked.  Would love to get my hands on whatever deadbeat had our number previously!

I have been receiving a flood of calls from this number for over a year with a bad recording of a ladies voice, then a almost unreadable computer man voice pronouncing the name which is something like "JULIAN VLADVANDAM" and there is no way to get through to a real person or opt out... Considering the method and frequency of these practices, why hasn't any state or federal attorney general, the FTC or some other agency fined or arrested someone? I suggest people report these goons to the Internet Crime Complaint Center http://www.ic3.gov/, the FTC, https://rn.ftc.gov/pls/dod/wsolcq$.startup , the Better Business Bureau http://www.bbb.org and your state attorney general...

Keep getting calls from this number looking for someone named Jacqueline. The automated message I receive says it is a law firm that has sent a certified letter to "your address" and to give it immediate attention.  I have had many phone calls in the past from various collection agencies all trying to find Jacqueline. She must have used my phone number on her bad checks.

I was shocked to see so many people are dealing with this same crap.
i tried to have my cell phone company block the number, but unfortunately my phone doesn't have that function.  they offered to change my number for free, but i only use my cell, and there are too many people and important things linked to that number.
they instructed me to register on the national "do not call" list, and stated that you can now utilize it for cell numbers also.
i did that, hopefully it will stop it.
i have never answered the 5-7 times a day that they call (for well over a month now) but thank god i never did...thank you all for your postings here and informing the rest of us that this is in fact something a little "scamy" going on.

I told my fiance' about this.  Him being a "geek" has this to say:
"Its a HACK!! They have a webpage that lets you send them files.  I read the code and its a Trojan!!!! It leaves a small imprint on your pc that lets them into your system and steals everything they want to."

Ditto..getting the same thing as everyone else.  I thought it was about an old debt of mine, I called back and they put me on hold for 20 minutes - screw it....I hung up.  They keep calling.

One message was left saying to call the firm back about my account at 845-678-6275.  I call them back and gave them my number.  They were looking for some Mike somebody.  She said they would take my number off there list.  We will see!!!

calls for some former neighbor handyman who decided to use my number for his all of his bill collectors so I get lots of calls asking for Robert Anderson. unbelievable.

Have been receiving a call from this number for a week now on my cell phone.  Have not answered any of them, waiting for them to leave a message.  Have reported the number to my cell phone carrier and had number blocked to my phone as well as my wife's phone.

Called 5 times in one hour. Have no voicemail/answer system, so no message left. Just received this phone number and haven't given it to anyone. Mainly use phone for teens to use as emergency since our main phone is a cell.

They called my daughter's cell phone 5 times today.  I found this site and called the number listed here, talked to someone who said that they would remove the number from their system.  I also emailed them through the website listed in one of the above posts, telling them to stop the calls or I would send them a bill for the accrued cell minutes.  We will see what happens.

I am getting ALLOT of phone calls from this number, but it never goes anywhere. The caller id just says "NEW YORK CALL." When I press one to talk to someone, it just keeps me on hold. No one ever answers. It's driving me crazy!!!

It is a 2 person law firm.  One lawyer is from Nigeria.

The auto dialer is repeating the calls.  I do not understand the name they call for.

It is clear violation of fair debt collection practices act.

Called again 3 times (I have received 4 previous calls from this number).  One message was left saying to call the firm back about my account at 845-678-6275.

For a year now, we've been receiving calls for the fool dodging his bills that previously had our number.  Our dumb luck to move here and get this idiot's number...  Anyway, just today we got a call from this number.  Caller ID says New York call.  Hubby said it was regarding a law suit, the message cited his name, but again it was unclear as to the company name.  The number showed up on Caller ID, so he called it back and we got a message saying the number is disconnected.  Well, that's interesting - that a disconnected number just called us?  That's not possible.  My guess is this is a scam.  Since it's not an 800 number, I'm guessing it's not toll free so some tard out there is getting their jollies on jacking up our phone bills.

Left 4 messages in an hour.  The messages were recordings saying to call back the firm, and left a case number.

they've been calling me for sometime now...so I finally picked up and push 1.. this Sherry Ashe chick picked up..talked to me for like a second.. and put me on hold... so I just hung up... is there any way to block... that number or have it stop?
