My kids and I have T-Mobile family plan in Houston. We all received the message your Plus4 Credit Card is blocked Please call 8473821400. It was from tmomail@tmomail.net. We promptly deleted it.. We only received it once...so far. I had a feeling it was a scam of some sort. Thanks for verifiying it. Oh and my number is 832-6XX-XXXX. Looks like they are going in numberical order as I noticed the other numbers were 832-5XX.

Yep I got the same message today coming from the number 3565 and it looked like this -
tmomail@tmomail.net / / We found an error in your Plus 4 account. Please call at 847-382-1400
I'm in the Houston area with an 832 area code number on T-Mobile.

receive the same message - have a houston phone number - when I phoned it, the message said to ignore the message that it was sent in error.
Perhaps the lawyer is getting scammed as well or t-mobile told him to bugger off.

Same here, but for them I have all texts blocked...hmm... or was it all chargeable texts... damn... I better talk to my mother to make sure she's not getting these and freaking out or anything.
2011-06-06 21:00:17 Unknown
yeah, that's a good idea.
I also have 3 other lines undre the same account, but no scam problem yet.
2011-06-06 21:00:17 Unknown
I don't even know when my contract ends. Blech.
I'm going through and checking all the information I have on file with my banks, just in case.
2011-06-06 21:00:17 Unknown
Well, my contract with T-mobile is ending in August.... that's still 4 more months! I will definitely look into switching to another company, but maybe they are all the same with same issues... *sigh*
i guess i will do the same *stomps the spam messages*
2011-06-06 21:00:17 Unknown
because the number comes from short code, like the ones from T-mobile customer service, even if blocked those will get through..... at least i was told so by the customer rep.
Also, do not bother calling the customer care number.... it's faster with the chat online.
2011-06-06 21:00:17 Unknown
Well, I think anyone posting on here or even stumble upon this posts and see read our posts are well aware that the message is a scam.
My problem is that how did these scammers get our numbers, why isn't T-mobile doing anything about it, and what else to expect? I received 4 texts today, first one around 3ish, then 3 more from 4:45 to 4:50. but the short code and the number to call listed are all different. I am really annoyed by this, as you can understand......
report? 2011-06-06 21:00:17 Unknown
I also just got a text msg on my T-mobile saying "tmomail@tmomail.net//Plus 4 Account Blocked. Call at 847.382.1400
How do they get T-mobile account numbers??? Ticks me off, leave me alone!!
report? 2011-06-06 21:00:17 Unknown
Oh I'm a t-mobile customer too!!
report? 2011-06-06 21:00:17 Unknown
Well, I've figured out that my messages that were saying that my Plus 4 Account was frozen... was a reference to the Plus 4 Credit Union. I wonder why they picked that one. But I definitely know I have no accounts with them... so... nyah nyah! :)
report? 2011-06-06 21:00:17 Unknown
Oh I'm a t-mobile customer too!!
Peeowed 2011-06-06 21:00:17 Unknown
I'm in houston too and getting the same BS messages over and over!
princess 2011-06-06 21:00:17 Unknown
So Scorp, Htown, Jack, and I are all T-mobile customers located in houston? or at least have a houston number? This is insane!
princess 2011-06-06 21:00:17 Unknown
Aha, the madness continues...
princess 2011-06-06 21:00:17 Unknown
So, i am not getting any more texts, maybe they've moved on to other numbers because I have not replied. Apparently, this scam messages has been a problem from a while ago, I just didn't know until I received several suspicious texts with identical messages today. Anyways, tell your family and friends about the problem too, regardless of phone carrier they use. And DO NOT REPLY TO THEM.
report? 2011-06-06 21:00:17 Unknown
I mean really... you and I are both 832.526.... It's just so... suspicious. lol.
report? 2011-06-06 21:00:17 Unknown
Everyone in my family just got this text. "Plus 4 account blocked" They must be dialing the numbers in order. Mine is in the 832.600...
2011-06-06 21:00:17 Unknown
T-mobile cannot (or are not doing) do anything about those spam messages. They cannot even refund, if you get charges for getting these messages. :( I understand it's our responsibility to keep our number safe from spammers, but i did not proactively gave out my phone number to spammers or anyone else i don't trust. I think it's more of the phone company's responsibility to keep its customers' info safe and secure, and if a problem arise, to address it quickly.
Jack 2011-06-06 21:00:17 Unknown
Psh. I'd rather change companies than get the legal system involved, if T-Mobile customers are the only victims. Hmmmm... who to switch to? LOL. I've been with T-Mobile for some years now... I suppose I could check out some other companies rates.
Htown 2011-06-06 21:00:17 Unknown
I only got the one text message from this number, which read: "There is a problem with your Plus 4 account. Please call at 827 382 1400". Comes from tmomail@tmomail.net just to look official.
I'm a T-Mobile customer in Houston, too. Of course it's some kind of scam. Either they want your personal information or the call itself runs up some huge bill. DON'T get curious about this. There's no account problem. There's no harm that will befall you for ignoring this trash. Just let it go. If it were something real, then it wouldn't be so cryptic. And when's the last time a company proactively advised you there was some problem, anyway? Blackberry has intercontinental outages, then stays quiet for days, like they're some kind of Canadian cult or something. Your cable goes out, then what? Comcast calls you right up to tell you what's going on? Noooo. You sit on their automated line trying to talk to a live person, only to be told that there's an outage and they're working on it, so sit back and take it. This goes on all the time with companies. Nobody ever tells you anything when you ask, let alone goes out of their way to say "there's a problem, so please call".
