someone at this number called and ask for me by name but did not respond when I aanswered

Calls at least once a night for the last month. Got three tonight already. I usually never answer, but I did this time and had only static.

I called back. I got a recorded message for the Illinois Vietnam Veterans Association.

reverse number says it is in park ridge, IL

Called, Rang twice, but when I answered it was a dial tone.

Guy calls ask for Owner or Manager

I said he is NOT here

Then uses the Owner name and asks if he still owns the place.

Someone at this number (847-626-9589) keeps calling but noone answers when you pick up the phone.  This has happened several times this month.

I've been TORTURED by this number for the last week, calls at all hours of the day. They do not leave a message. They call as late as 9:30 on a Sunday night. Incredible!!!

I get calls from this no., but I always hang up before anybody even talks.  People have to say hello in the 1st 10th of a second or I hang up.  That way I never have to talk to telemarketers. I wonder if this is some overseas no.

Got a call from 847-626-9589. No message.

Got a call from this organization on my company line.  The guy asked if this was '----- company'. I replied 'yes' and asked "who (or should that be whom) they are calling for?"  the guy said 'Oh, just forget it' and hung up.  I get my share of telemarketing calls but I think this is a new one for me.

He called my business and asked for previous owner by last name. When I asked what is was concerning he said "A local Civic Matter". I told him that he no longer works here and said politely, thank you and goodbye.

ASKED FOR MY EMPLOYER BY HIS FIRST NAME AND WHEN I SAID I CAN TAKE A MESSAGE AS HE WAS NOT IN, HE HUNG UP ON ME. HOW RUDE!!!!!!!!!

Received call at 9:15 on 1/29; no message was left

They call all hours and the caller ID says Illinois.  I have answered 5 times and they ask for my husband.  I tell them he does not want to donate and do not call again.  The last time they rudely said they would call back when his calls were not being screened.  They should be turned in for harrasement.  Their phone no.  847-626-9589

Call at 8:48PM, 1/4/08 Call originated from Skokie, IL. as Illinois Vietnam Vets Association. Caller ID read"Illinois" Reverse lookup: Mpower Communications Corp. I requested information so I could look this up online. Got a vague guess for a IL Vietnam Vets.org? web site address and was hung up on when I refused to ok having a mailing sent to me.

Call from Illinois, 847/626-9589.  Received several in past 2 weeks.  I did NOT answer them because I figured it was telemarketers.

have been receiving calls from this number for days.  Even on Christmas Eve.  I checked reverse info and it is Vietnam Veterans.  When they have called in the past, I asked them to mail me information and will consider it.  They won't let me off the phone or mail anything without a pledge amount.  Now I know it is them and don't answer the phone.  I called the 800 number given by another poster and followed automated instructions to be added to their DNC list.  

We have a local home for homeless veterans and I would rather give directly to them.

Have gotten a few calls from this number over the past few days.  Either they've called when I've been gone, or I've been here and not picked up.  No messages left.  Found this site and I agree, these nonprofits who call are irritating.

Just got a call from this number.  No one said anything when I picked up, just silence.  Called the number back and it is for the Vietnam Veterans.  If I wanted to give your organization money, I would do it myself without being called during dinner time.  This is why I give money to the Humane Society, they don't call and harass you for donations.

I received a call from 1-847-626-9589, caller ID "Illinois".  No response when I answered after only two rings.  After a few seconds a click, then silence.  I called 1-800-379-6730, as recommended by a user on 800notes.com, went through the automated menu and was promised to be removed.

5:14 PM. When asked for by full name I asked who was calling, three times the last time saying, I'd hang up. They said, rudely, Hang Up Then!"... and I did.

No answer when I said hello twice...

Thank you!  I called the 800 number, but you must call it from the phone that received the calls.  
These people are very annoying, calling all hours day & night even Sundays!  They never should have excluded charities from the Do not call list, they are the worst!  If we want to gicve, we can find them!
