OK, I looked up Stratasoft -- they sell dialing equipment for telemarketers/firms.  That pause is their system looking for an agent to handle the call.

I get a call from that number every week or two.  They hang up when I say hello.  Getting real sick of it.

I just called them and hit zero on the menu.  Got some guy that may be in India.  He said he would put me on the do not call list.

WTF???  I've gotten calls 5 days in a row with no message.  On my cell phone, no less.

I finally called them back and heard a scratchy recorded intro:

"Welcome to Strata Soft, an industry leader in telephony solutions."

loooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnng pause

Then it sent me through to a rep who hung up on me after I said "hello".

This guy is from India, is RUDE and Threatening!

I called anonymously by putting *67 before dialing the number. A recording saying, "Thank you for calling Strata-soft, an industry leader in telephonic products and solutions" - and then the line goes dead...I tried twice.

A reverse phone lookup on this person shows the call is coming from a land line in Evanston IL. Maybe try calling the number back from a payphone (so this person doesn't get a hold of your phone number) and see if you can get a reply. Sound kind of clueless such as "What time are you open until?" so the guy thinks you are asking for something else.

He calls every day, and WON'T STOP!!! HE DOESN'T EVEN SAY ANYTHING!!! Don't even answer this idiot, or put him on a do not call list. (Which might not even work!!!)

Calls my work line several times a day asking for the person in charge. Next time they call I'll tell them I'm in charge, Then tell them I'm Not Interested. Well see if it stops.
